Hello, as most of my one-shots are, this was for the 'Hogwarts Online' Prompt of the Day challenge. The prompt was Alone For Christmas.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, Hogwarts, Magic, or any other Characters, or Houses that are in this story. I am not making any money through this production.
It was Christmas Eve at Hogwarts, and Harry was feeling particularly lonely. Ron and Hermione had gone to the Burrow for the Christmas Holidays, and the only people at school were the staff and some Slytherins, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws. There were no other Gryffindors at Hogwarts this evening, and Harry closed himself in. In the moments when he was lonely, Harry's mind usually wandered. It wandered to his wants, his needs. He wanted his family. He needed his family. He needed people around him.
On Christmas, Harry woke to nothing. He woke to his bare dormitory, save for the made beds and his presents.
On the top of the pile, was a package that was definitely sent my Ron's mum.
Harry,
Sorry that we couldn't accommodate you here at the Burrow. I hope the fudge and cake will make you feel better. I also have a jumper for you.
Hope you aren't too lonely.
Love from,
Molly.
As he unwrapped the present, he noticed that it sure was fudge, cake and a Weasley Jumper. Looking back over to his pile, he noticed a very messily wrapped one.
This one was from Ron.
Hey, Harry.
Just wanted to let you know that I hope you aren't too lonely. I mean, there are other people, right? Anyways, having your own chess set really helps in the game. That brings me to your present. I got you a chess set, brand new.
Hope you're not too lonely.
Ron.
Opening the Chess set, Harry saw no use in it. He was in no way a good chess player. Taking another gift, a rectangular gift, he noticed Hermione's neat handwriting.
Harry,
I'm really sorry that you couldn't go with us to the Burrow. Ginny is pestering Ron about not letting you come with us. Ron is challenging everyone to a chess match-just because he's good… Anyways, I hope this book will help you get more entertained.
I know you're lonely Harry, just hang in, only a few days until term begins again.
From,
Hermione.
He opened his present. Hermione had gotten him a book-no surprise there, but the title looked interesting. Quidditch through the Ages. That did sound promising.
Harry looked back at his pile. Only two more presents to go. He picked the bigger one. I was wrapped relatively neatly, not as well as Hermione's and Mrs. Weasley's, but better than Ron's.
Hi, Harry.
Look, I know that we've hardly talked. That's partially my fault, but I thought that you might want this. I ordered this for you and I really hope that you like it. It cost me some money, but not so much that I couldn't afford it.
Love,
Ginny.
He unwrapped the present to be staring at a massive box of Chocolate Frogs. Looking at the sides, he noticed that there were 120 Frogs altogether.
"Thanks, Ginny." He said to himself in a whisper.
He opened the last present, which had no card. Looking inside, he noticed Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Beans. He decided that this was probably from Fred and George.
Though these presents were good, he didn't feel in the mood to be happy. He was sad, sad that he was alone, sad that he had no family to go home to, sad that his friends just left him here, alone. He wished that he had someone to be with on Christmas Day.
