Disclaimer: I don't own Star Trek: Voyager.

A/N: Has anyone else noticed the lack of attention that the rest of the crew gets? I mean, they live every adventure the main guys do, but you never hear about them unless they're directly involved (ie. getting killed). So, here is what I hope will be the first of several stories about everybody else on the crew, with the main guys left out unless they were directly involved.

This is set around the episode Hunters.

Today we found out that Starfleet had contacted Voyager. Most of us didn't believe it at first. Earth was 60,000 light years away. But then Neelix started handing out the letters, and it changed everything. We found out that there was a large network of communicators that stretched all the way to the Alpha Quadrant! Voyager had sent a message that told we were alright and asked how to get home. Starfleet then sent ome information on getting back and hundreds of letters from friends and loved ones. Seven of Nine spent hours downloading them, but she couldn't et them all. Even B'Elanna Torres couldn't get them all. The station was destroyed before the download was complete. What's worse, the entire network was shut down. Now we can't talk to Earth again.

Those of us not injured during the destruction of the station waited anxiously to see if we were one of the lucky ones, if our letter was saved. It was a couple of hours before all the letters were given out. Andrea spent hours crying for her brother's death. Mikey couldn't stop smiling: his litter sister was married, and a mother, too. So many of my friends and comrades got letters, proof that home remembers them and that there's someone to go back to. But I didn't. B'Elanna had a lost of people who she knew had letters written to them, but my name wasn't there, either. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anyone's still around if we get back to Earth. When. When we get back to Earth.

Well, my shift is going to start soon. End log.
