The Defeat of Joelle
Joelle Poe sensed the coming of the Hero of Time. She told her sisters to get ready. The hero came into the main room; he was a tall and handsome man, and if Joelle had been alive she would've tried to seduce him.
She opened her lantern and scooped up the lift's flame. Joelle's sisters followed her lead and they left to their rooms. Joelle came to hers and entered a frame. She was waiting there for about half an hour when she saw the Hero of Time passed through.
Ten minutes later, the hero returned. He had a bow and an arrow was strung. He shot the painting, and Joelle fled to the second canvas. She saw him coming and taking aim, so she fled to the third frame. She kept this pattern up for another five minutes, laughing at the hero, hoping that he would be chilled to the bone and leave the Forest Temple.
Then Joelle didn't hear the warning sound, the sound of the Hylian's boots as he came up the stairs. She had time to see that the Hero of Time had taken off his footwear before being forced to go to the last painting. She had no choice but to watch the hero, his boots back on, come up and shoot at the final picture.
She hurried to the bottom of the stairs. Joelle heard the Hero of Time clatter down. As soon as he landed with a thud, Joelle attacked. She turned invisible and swung her lantern, but the lantern must have not disappeared, for the Hero of Time jumped aside. He nocked another arrow and shot Joelle, who scream was silent to him, but as loud as thunder to her sisters. She tried again and again, but the Hero of Time finally sent an arrow through her dark heart.
Joelle had failed her master.
Author's Note: I wrote this my senior year of high school. Believe it or not, this was an assignment for Dual Enrollment English. The class was given a picture of a pair of shoes (one for each of us, of course), and we had to write a story about the person who owned the shoes. I thought of Joelle when she was alive, and as I didn't have time to write a biography on her I figured her fight with Link from her viewpoint would have to do. Had this been a different class with a different teacher, or the same class with a different teacher, I'm not sure I would have gotten away with it.
This is the only story I have right now, but I'll try to get more material written. I can't promise anything right now since my laptop crapped out on me and I can't afford to replace it right now, and I can't find the time to write more than notes for both my fan fiction and my original works right now.
