Jasmine's breath caught in her throat.

This can't be happening. This can't be happening.

She wanted to scream, as her house burst into flames with her family still inside. Knowing there would be no survivors, her feet pounded the dirt ground until she was on the cold pavement road to the city. The droid's automatic voices could be heard. "Get her!" The blasters fired around the girl. One barely missed her shoulder, but she was too far for the rain of bullets to reach her with accuracy.

By the time she arrived in time, sweat beaded her forehead. Her feet were sore, and she stumbled right into a person. "S-Sorry." Of course she had knocked right into a Jedi.

Obi Wan felt a disturbance in the force; it was rushing right towards him. "S-Sorry." A girl with black hair and tinted brown skin fell on him. "No problem." He replied while steadying her on his arm. "Are you all right?" She glanced behind her quickly, and noticing the incoming droids, started to worry. Sensing this emotion, Obi-Wan took Jasmine's hand and led her through the labyrinth of streets into his room. "You'll be safe here."

Jasmine's pulse raced, as the rare Jedi turned her onto dark alleys, back roads, and finally, to a hotel room. "You'll be safe here." Nearly collapsing on the floor, she caught hold of Obi-Wan again. "Do you need medical assistance?" His calming voice was reassuring, like her father's hand on her shoulder. "Oh god, oh god, my family!" She burst into sobs on the ugly colored carpeting. "Shh, why don't we take a few breaths, and perhaps eat something?" She hiccupped a weary yes, as he applied a cool washcloth to her sandy face. "There, already you're starting to look better." The bearded man ordered some food from the room service. "While we wait for the food, why don't you try explaining to me some of the events that have frightened you?"

The girl looked an absolute disaster to Obi-Wan. He had yet to finish his mission, and this girl was only delaying him. But how could he turn away from this frightened creature in danger? He nursed her like a parent; applying a wet washcloth to her sweaty face. "There, already you're starting to look better." He picked up the phone and ordered a few of the food selections. He wanted to help her, but if she never told him what was wrong, he simply could not. "While we wait for the food, why don't you try to explain to me some of the events that have frightened you?" The girl nodded. "I was supposed to be home an hour ago, but I-I always come…came home late, so I naturally came home a little later." Her sobs had eased into a few hiccups every few words. He could tell her words wrung pain through her very heart. "Those droids started blowing my house up, until it was all in flames!" She held back the cry. "I knew that I could loose them through the city, so I ran into the city in desperation." Obi-Wan felt sympathy pour from his soul for this poor girl.

There was a soft knock at the door. Her caregiver for the time thanked the server as he took the food inside. Jasmine, relieved for the interruption, stared hungrily at the food. "Well, eat up." She thanked the man again, and dug into the food. "And that's where you met me. Correct?" She nodded. What will I do now?
