*Authors Note*- Hello this is something I had to do for ELA class so I figured I would put it up. This is a Norse myth. So ... Some people you might want to know-
Frigg- She is the highest goddess in Aesir and the goddess of child birth. She can also see the future. She is the wife of Odin.
Asgard-Land of the gods and goddess
Bifrost-RainbowBridge
Midgard- Earth
Heimdall- god of the rainbow bridge
Aesir- One of the two tribes in Norse mythology and the most famous.
Ragnarock- a fight between the gods and giants (end of the world).
Odin- Highest god in Aesir.
So without further ado …
One day, in Asgard, the goddess Frig was heavily crying. Someone was about to give birth and she had to go to Midgard. She cried so much that the water fell to earth. Heimdall saw the rain and went to help Frigg. "Frigg what is wrong? Why are you crying so much that it is raining?" Heimdall asked.
"A woman is giving birth and I need to help but I can't get to Midgard."
"I have an idea what if I create a rainbow bridge so that you can get down."
"That would be lovely!"
When the rainbow bridge was done Frigg thanked Heimdall and the rain stopped, but not soon after Odin, the chief of the Aesir tribe, came and asked around abut the new rainbow bridge. After being told that is was Heimdall who made it, the chief went to fid the god. Upon fining him Odin asks, "Why did you make the rainbow bridge, Bifrost?"
"Frigg needed a way to get to Midgard."
"What will happen when the giants learn about Bifrost and come and attack?"
"Then I shall guard it with my life and if the giants come then I shall blow a horn to warn everyone. Also if any go or goddess wishes to pass then they must cry their hardest and make it rain."
With that statement Heimdall became the god of the rainbow bridge and will blow he horn at Ragnarock.
