Traditional
What's so great about being traditional? Sammy's always complaining that we don't do normal or traditional things. I don't see what's so important. We're family. That's all that should matter.
Dean (Age 17)
Train
All we ever do is train. I find the practice repulsive. I want to do homework. I don't want to chase down some poor duck Dean just shot for target practice. If Dean wants to eat it so badly, then maybe he should be the one trying to find it right now. This is stupid. I'd also like to be on the football team. I'm good at kicking. Or the baseball team. I could be pitcher. I have excellent aim. But, no. Instead, I'm chasing a stupid duck because Dad only wants us to train. I'm tired all the time which means that even though I like school, it's really hard because all we ever do is train.
Sam (Age 14)
Love
Everyone wants love. I find that frustrating because I have trouble showing love. It's easy with Sammy. He's my little brother and it's my job to protect him. It's harder with my dad and everyone else. Why does it have to be so hard?
Dean (Age 15)
Knowledge
It's often said that knowledge is power. I guess that makes sense because my dad's in charge of us and he has the most knowledge about life and hunting the things that go bump in the night. I just don't like the way we're being raised. It's hard and unfair at times, but Dad's in charge. That's why I'm gathering all the knowledge I can so one day, I'll have the power to choose how I live.
Sam (Age 13)
Peace
Peace is a joke. There's no way to earn peace without things getting bloody. Every hunter says they're fighting to bring peace to the world by killing every supernatural thing they can find is fooling themselves. Peace doesn't count if it involves the annihilation of an entire species.
Dean (38)
Pride
Dean is Dad's pride and joy. He's the perfect little soldier. It sucks that I'm the youngest and I can't help. I'm so small and useless.
Sam (Age 10)
Honesty
I wish I knew more about the way Mom died. All I know is that something got her and set fire to our house. I remember the heat, the burning heat. I would be honest with Dad if he asked what I remember about that night. I wish Dad would talk more about Mom. I barely remember her, but I miss her.
Dean (Age 8)
Bravery
Dean is the bravest person I've ever known. He hates himself and believes himself to be unworthy. However, over the years, he has learned to fight now only real demons, but also his own. Proof of that can be seen in how he at least sort of lets some of us who care about him in, despite the immense losses we've suffered, like Kevin, Charlie, Jo, Ash, Ellen, and worst of all, Bobby. Yet somehow, Dean manages to let Cas and me in. Even though he closes himself off pretty often, he tries, and that makes him the bravest person I've ever known.
Sam (Age 34)
