"We will see each other again." Hermione said, firmly grasping his hand in hers and staring into his cold eyes with a fiery reassurance. They sat alone in the Astronomy Tower, savouring a moment togther.
"We'll be together nexterday- the day after tomorrow."
"Why not now? Or tomorrow?" He asked, eyebrow raised.
"Because now we don't have time, and tomorrow we will be mourning. We can't get through this without loosing someone- it's inevitable. So I'm terribly sorry to make the great Slytherin Prince wait, but nexterday is the soonest I can book you for an appointment."
He chuckled, pulling her close.
"We'll get through this." He mummered into her hair.
"I promise," She clutched at him, as though he were a lifeline and she was stranded in the ocean. His words did little to comfort her, so instead he opted for silence and watched the night dissapear, and with it their time. Things would be okay for them, they had to be...
After the Final Battle, he searched through the rubble in fear. He had yet to see her, but he needed to find her. He removed a large chunk of rubble with his wand, and gasped at the sight before him. He moved the rest of the dirt away from her, and smoothed back her hair. He held her lifeless body as sobs racked his thin frame. He howled into the night, begging her to answer him. She didn't. For the couple, nexterday never came.
