"We'd better hurry, Harry," said Rowena as they entered one of the few natural ritual circles still preserved from ancient times. It was in Scotland, yet far from the grounds of Hogwarts. "These clouds don't look very friendly."
"You know this ritual cannot be rushed," Harry said. "If it wasn't so important, I'd put it off for another day." Rowena scoffed at the thought. The ritual could only be performed on one day out of every hundred years; there was no way she'd wait until she was a hundred thirty to perform this all important ritual with her man. This was the only way to make her stubborn family magic submit to the man she loved. There was a reason why that, even though there had been no males of the Ravenclaw line for centuries, the Ravenclaw name survived. The Ravenclaw family magic refused to submit to a male without Ravenclaw blood.
It was infuriating to Rowena that her Lord would not be recognized as the head of her family. Thus, she had searched for a ritual with which to either force her family magic to submit to Harry, or to destroy her family magic completely. What they planned to do now turned out to be a combination of the two.
It was a ritual designed to purify evil family magics by combining them with another 'pure' good magical line. Since magic was about intent, and Rowena considered the Ravenclaw magic's refusal, to submit to Harry, to be evil, it would theoretically do the job. "Let's get it done." She said.
Nodding, Harry drew his sword in sync with her. "Now, do the runes in blood if you can, only carve one into the ground if strictly necessary. This circle needs to last another few milenia so that Hermione can use it." Rowena nodded and began.
It took another half hour to complete the ritual. Then, just as Rowena was basking in the joy of feeling her magic submit to Harry, it started to rain. "Crap! I cannot dispel the runes until the rain subsides, as the blood runes must not wash away; they must be vanished." Rowena sighed. They were already getting drenched.
Harry just grinned. "I know a way to both strengthen the ritual and kill time; that is, if you're up to getting wet in more ways than one."
"Oh, I already am," Rowena replied.
"Good."
Harry and Rowena 'killed time' for a few hours until the rain stopped, by which time both were drenched by more than the rain.
"Rain is a good thing," Rowena commented as she dispelled and vanished the runes.
"Definitely."
