Chapter 1

It was a day like any other, miserable and cold. The snow had just began to fall again as I finished with my last job interview. "Oh great," I thought as I walked out to my truck, "its snowing again, just wonderful!" It had snowed all week long and I was getting tired of driving around in it. Sure it was nice at first, but the more it fell, the worse it got. I decided to drive over to Starbuck's before heading home because my white chocolate mocha seemed to always put me in a better mood, that is until I got there and the drive-thru line was out the wazoo. Knowing that I had to get out of my, now warm truck, didn't make me any happier. That's when it happened; I went in for coffee and came out with the job I had only dreamed about.

"Welcome to Starbucks, I'm Molly, what can I get for you?"

"I'd like a Grande White Chocolate Mocha and a slice of your banana chocolate chip bread, please."I said as I fumbled around in my purse for my wallet.

After giving her my debit card, I walked over to a nearby table to wait for my order. I pulled out my cell phone to make a call when a toddler made her way to my table.

"Well, aren't you beautiful," I said as I picked her up. "Where'd you come from, huh? Let's see if we can find your mommy and daddy so they don't get worried about you."

I stood up and looked around but no one was looking for their child. "Ok, this is strange," I thought to myself, "who just lets their child wonder off."

I wasn't sure what to do, as it wasn't often that I was in a situation like this one. I looked down at her as she started to cry.

"Oh, shhh, sweetie, its ok," I said as I held her close against me. I sat down and tried to think of what to do.

"Order for April," the server said over the intercom.

I slid my purse over my shoulder and walked up to the counter with a now sleeping child. I slid the bag of food into my purse and picked up the coffee. As I turned to walk towards the door, I almost ran head on into Randy Orton.

"Whoa, I am so sorry. I can't believe I almost spilled this all over you," I said trying to back away so as to not throw hot coffee on him.

"Don't worry about it," he started, "but I would like to have my daughter back."

I looked at him with a confused look on my face as he pointed to the sleeping child in my arms. As I came to the realization that I had Alanna, I instantly blushed.

"Of course," I said as I handed her to him.

She started crying and reaching back for me. He looked upset as he had no idea what I had done to his child. I instantly felt bad and wasn't sure what to say or do.

"Why won't she stop crying," he said as he rubbed her back.

"I'm not sure. It could be any number of things," I said as I took a sip of coffee.

He gently rocked her and still she wouldn't stop crying. His cell phone started ringing so he decided to hand her back to me.

"Can you do me a favor? Hold her for a second, please? I really have to take this call, its important." He said as he answered his phone.

I didn't even answer and he was already placing his child back into my arms. I sat down and began to rock her. She cuddled up to me, rubbed her eyes and sniffed one last time. I placed my hand on her forehead and noticed that she felt rather warm.

"You're a little warm, sweetheart. I guess that could be causing you to be so fussy, huh?" I said as I reached down with a tissue to wipe her nose.

Lucky for me there was a lady sitting across from me who had a little one with her as well. I figured she'd have some baby Tylenol or Motrin, so I walked over to her.

"I am so sorry to bother you, but I think this little one is running a low grade fever," I started.

After hearing that she didn't have what I needed, I walked back to my chair and grabbed my keys. I knew there was a drugstore around the corner and I knew I could get her some there. Heading towards the door, however, I realized I couldn't leave.

"Oh man, I can't just up and leave with his daughter." I thought as I sat back down.

I knew at this point there was only one thing to do and that was to wait until he got off the phone. As I sat there waiting I found myself rocking her and humming softly. Oddly enough, it felt nice holding her and I felt like we were the only ones in the coffee shop. What I didn't know, was that Randy had been off his phone and was sitting there watching me.

"Is this woman for real?" he thought as he watched me sit down in a chair by the window. He began to take notice of how good I was with Alanna and he liked the fact that she took to me so easily, as she had attendancy to not like being held by strangers.

"Earth to Randy," John started, "are you in there?"

John Cena had just arrived to go over some details about the house show taking place that evening. He noticed that his friend was off in another world and couldn't help but wonder why. Again he tried to shake his friend out of his trance.

"Hello, Randy," he said waving his hands in front of Randy's face.

"Huh? Oh, sorry, I was just, um, watching, um, oh never mind. Glad you could make it, you're late." Randy said trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, well I don't normally like driving in this mess so I took my time. No big deal though, I still made it here didn't I?" He said as he sat down with his hot cup of coffee.

As the two started talking, Alanna started getting fussy again. I knew I couldn't wait any longer so I approached his table.

"Um, excuse me," I started, "I hate to interrupt, but I think Alanna is running fever and she needs some Motrin or Tylenol."

He reached up and felt her head as he reached for the diaper bag.

"Damnit, she didn't pack anything like that in here," he said placing the bag back on the floor.

"Look, I know this may sound crazy, but there is a drug store around the corner. I would be happy to run over there and get some for you while you have your meeting with John, that is, if you don't mind me doing something like that for you." I said noticing the odd look on his face.

"Wow, you'd really do that? Why?" he asked, curiosity peaked.

"Yes, of course I would. She needs something to bring her fever down or you'll be making a trip to the emergency room. Trust me, once we get her fever down, she won't be so fussy." I said as he took her into his arms.

"Wow, I think I'm truly shocked. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that it's nice to have someone care about something or someone other than mobbing me and my friends because of who we are. That doesn't happen very often." He said as he pulled out his wallet.

Handing me some cash he told me to be careful while I was out there.

"I will, and oh before I forget, who are you again?" I said somewhat playfully.

"You don't know who I am," he said kind of shocked.

"Of course I know who you are, I don't just do this for anyone, you know," I said as I walked towards the door.

"Hey, wait a minute," he said aloud. "How would you feel about doing this full time?"

"Doing what? Running around to the drugstore to get medicine?" I said as I turned around to face him.

"No, I meant taking care of Alanna for me." He said as he handed her to John.

"I really like what I have seen today and I'm sure after I have a conversation with Sam, she'll be fine with it. I think a live in nanny would be perfect."

"I'm sorry, do what? You want me to what? Are you serious?" I said in complete shock.

"Yeah, I'm serious. Alanna seems to like you and you seem to like her so I think it's perfect. You have also showed me that it doesn't matter to you that I'm a famous person. You showed me the kind of respect that I usually don't receive from my fans and that speaks volumes about the kind of person you are."

"Well, thank you, I don't know what to say. I'd love to take care of that beautiful little girl, but are you sure this is ok? I mean I'm nothing more than some stranger that walked into a coffee shop and just happen to be here at the same time you were and…" he cut me off.

"Do you believe in fate?" he asked.

"Of course I do, but what does that have to do with this?" I asked somewhat confused.

"I believe you were right when you said that you just happened to be here at the same time that I happened to be here. If that isn't fate, then I'd like to know what is," he said as he raised an eyebrow at me.

It didn't take me long to realize that he wasn't going to take no for an answer. We exchanged phone numbers so he could get in touch with me after he discussed his plan with Sam. He reached out to shake my hand as if we'd just made some sort of business deal and then I was on my way to the drug store. I had no idea that when I accepted his offer, it would be the last job I'd ever have to look for.
