A/N- FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE READ MY OTHER STORY 'Past Wars', DON'T WORRY IM NOT GIVING UP ON IT. IN FACT YOU SHOULD EXPECT AN UPDATE SOMETIME NEXT WEEK. THIS HAS JUST BEEN A DRABBLE THAT HAS BEEN PLAEGING MY MIND. ANYWAYS ON TO THE STORY!
Neji walked along side the other Hyuuga's, dressed head to toe in black. The sun was hidden behind multiple clouds and a fog had settled upon konoha. Neji looked up towards the sky. A bird was making graceful movements with its wings, flying around in a circle. A sense of nostalgia over took him. He had always liked birds, believing that he was a caged bird himself. Unfortunately that thought was the same one that had stopped him from realizing how truly trapped some people were.
Everyone filed into their seats and waited for the ceremony to begin. Neji focused his all-seeing eyes on the white casket before him. On top was a picture of his cousin, Hyuuga Hinata. In the picture her cheeks held a small blush while her lips were adorned with that same shy and gentle smile that she had worn so long ago. At least it felt like long ago. Today she would have married the Mizukage's son, not by choice of course, but by the orders of the Hyuuga Head. Everyone knew who she really wanted to marry. She had fallen in love with a certain ramen obsessed ninja and he with her. They were going to run away together and they almost did, until Hiashi found out about their plans. He locked Hinata away in her room and stationed Hyuuga's from the branch family by her door at all times. When Hiashi found out that Naruto and Hinata had been relaying messages to each other through Hinabi, he thought it would be better to get her out of the leaf altogether. So he mad a deal with the Mizukage, in which Hinata would marry the Mizukage's son and go to live with them in the mist. Hinata was devastated but Naruto was even more devastated. For days he walked like a dead man. A wiry smile came to Neji's face as he wondered if the blond shinobi would come to the funeral. He was shaken out of his thoughts when the same blond appeared on the scene. By now everyone had turned to look at Naruto. Naruto walked up to Hiashi and lifted him up by his shirt.
"You killed her!" he screamed, tears rapidly falling down his face. He threw his arm back ready to punch Hiashi but seconds away from his face his arm stopped and dropped down. He then dropped Hiashi to the floor and his shoulders slumped as if he no longer had any strength to lift himself up.
"You killed her." He whispered, the tears falling even faster now.
Everyone was silent.
For in the end Hyuuga Hinata did not die on a battle field or on an operating tableā¦.
But of a broken heart.
