Author's note: This is the first thing I've posted (because I was forced to) and I haven't written in a long time, (well, anything of my own that is) so please don't judge my writing too harshly :( I rather enjoy this pairing but don't have an actual story to go with this yet, so I'm open to suggestions. Really, I have absolutely NO direction with story yet.

Disclaimer: I sadly do not own the Homestuck or any of its characters, it all belongs to the amazing Andrew Hussie

I remember the first time I ever saw Gamzee cry, right down to the last detail. I was six at the time, he was eight. We were playing in the tree house of my backyard that we'd help build with my Dad. Gamzee and I were playing pretend again, I was suppose to be a rough n' tough cowboy while he was my trusty steed . Don't ask me why he was playing as a horse, he just wanted to be that. I was riding around on his back inside the large tree house as he crawled on his hands and knees, every now and then making weird animals sounds like "Quack" or "oink'. Anyways, there was this large opening on one side that usually had a rope we climbed down, but the rope had broken and wasn't there anymore. As we continued to play our game, we pretended we were being chased by bandits so Gamzee started crawling faster and bucking sometimes. I remember how our laughter filled the little room and how big his smile was. Then suddenly everything flipped. Either I didn't hold on tight enough or Gamzee bucked too hard, but I had somehow flipped off of Gamzee's back and through the wide opening. When I hit the ground, I landed on my left arm, breaking my radius bone. I remember how quickly Gamzee came down the ladder, practically jumping half way down. The panicked look on his face when I whaled in pain as he tried to pull me up. Gamzee dashed into the house and got my dad who carried me inside. As Rufio examined my already bruising arm, Gamzee stood by the couch I was placed on holding my right hand. He had a comforting smile on his face but his eyes were filled with worry. When Rufio asked what had happened, I tried to explain that it was just an accident. But I was cut short by Gamzee yelling that it was his fault, that he was playing too rough and had practically thrown me from the tree. But Rufio knew that Gamzee was making it sound worse than it was. He ruffled Gamzee's hair and leaned down to look him in the face, "It's ok, Gamzee. Accidents happen. I'm sure Tavros will be alright and that this isn't your fault. But in the meantime, I have to take Tavros to the hospital. Do you want me to take you home first?"
Gamzee's eyes went wide at the mention of me going to the hospital, his dark brown eyes sparkling with waiting tears. "NO! I wanna go with you guys."

"Are you sure Gamzee, I don't know if I'll be able to take you home later." Gamzee just nodded his head, his face set in a displaced determined frown. "Ok, you'll just have to call your dad then."

We got in the car and drove to the hospital in my Dad's Jeep, my head resting in Gamzee's lap of the back seat. He petted my hair till I fell asleep, but I could still feel the dripping of tears on my face that weren't my own.
