just a little something :)

POV: Jo

My heart was thumping in my chest while I was walking away from Kendall. Why didn't I just come clean when I could? I mean… I did like him. So why did I have to lie about having a boyfriend? I was just being plain stupid…

I couldn't get his hazel eyes out of my mind… they were gorgeous. Is it weird that I daydreamed about Kendall's eyes? No, I don't think it is. It's just normal for someone in love.

Wait… did he say what time he was going to pick me up? Oh, crap! I was just so caught up in him asking me out that I couldn't pay attention to the really important facts. Great.

My phone beeped from inside my pocket. I pulled it out and checked the caller ID. It was an unknown number, so I answered it cautiously. "Hello…?"

"Hey, Jo? It's Kendall."

My heart started beating franticly. He was actually calling me. "Yeah?" Oh, wow, way to sound professional, Jo!

"What time should I pick you up? We kinda forgot to set a date."

"Seven's good."

"Okay. See you then." There was a click which told me that he had hung up.

Oh god, it was six o'clock now. Well, there go the chances of me looking somewhat decent for our date.

There was a gentle knock on the door about an hour later. I flipped my hair over my shoulder and checked it in the mirror one last time before going to answer it.

"Hi, Kendall," I said when I let him in.

"Hi. You look… amazing."

"Thanks. So are we gonna go soon?"

"Yeah, right now."

"Oh." I could almost feel my face turning bright red, and I'm pretty sure that Kendall could feel the heat emanating off of me. God, why was this so awkward? I'd had plenty of experience with boys.

"We could stay here," he suggested. "You look kind of frazzled."

"I am. I can't find my shoes."

"Then we'll just stay here. Is that okay with you? I promise not to break anything."

I laughed. "Sure. Come in."

At the end of the night – he had stayed very late – I walked him to the door.

"That was fun," he said. "We should do this again sometime."

"Agreed," I replied.

I thought he was going to leave then, but he didn't. He just leaned forward and pressed his lips to my cheek quickly. "I'll see you later."

"Bye."

Well, it's official. That was the most awkward date I ever had.
