A/N: This hopefully my return to the Fan Fiction world. I have been so busy, starting high school, playing sports; it has all been so crazy. But I never forgot about my writing I tried I really did there was just no time, and after school my already small ADHD attention span was at nil. I just hope you guy like this.
I wake up, I shower, I get dressed, I catch a bad guy, and then I cry myself to sleep. Every day, it is just the same damn thing again, and again, and again. I have to give myself a little speech in the morning just so I can keep functioning. I tell myself that I am me, no one else is me but me, and no one else is as good as me but me, it is not much but it keeps me sane… it keeps me alive. Yet I know no matter how much I tell myself, that I am the one and only Nate River it does not change the fact that I wear a different face than when I was a child. I am N, or Near, or whatever alias I give. I am never truly me anymore.
Today was no different; at least that's how it started. I woke up, I showered, I got dressed, gave my speech, and then when out to catch another notorious killer. But I did not realize that this killer was different, this killer was my Bane… he was my kryptonite. Before I realized who he was or how any of his victims had a connection, he was just another bad guy to me. His file said he always killed the same way, he always carefully broke every bone in the victim's body without killing them, and then he would slit their throat. He never left a trace or a note, he did not have an MO and we had no eye witnesses. There are only three victims so far; this guy must be good if I was called in before he even got to five. But today, April 20, 2013, I would find the pattern, I would find out what this killer wanted.
"We have a fourth victim!" Halle screams at the top of her lungs, making it sound like the building is collapsing. She was so loud it broke my Lego Tokyo skyline.
"Jeez! What is it Halle? And it better be good!" I yelled back angrily.
"The NYPD just found a fourth body, and I think you can find the connection pretty easily."
"Ok, fine. Pull up the crime scene photos from all four of the murders." I ordered our new tech manager, Mack.
"Here you go boss."
"Hmm…" I scanned the picture for about five second before I realized the connection. Now to just verify what I already know. "Tilt the pictures so that all of them are facing what would be south, in their respective buildings." Mack did as he was told and what I already knew was verified. The bodies in order from first to last spelled… NEAR. I was being called out.
Well there you have it my first of I don't know how many chapters. And I will leave who you guys think the killer for your imaginations right now.
