Hey! This is my first fanfic and I want some feedback :3 I don't own Percy Jackson or any of the characters, cuz If I did I'd write a sequel to it :D
I walked down the edge of the river with the cold black sand touching my bear scared feet. I had a unnatural limp to my step and I was busy wiping tears from my face. A college diploma floated next to a blue ribbon as I watched the river of lost dreams. I focused hard on the upper part of my right thigh. I visualized it as my tether as I stood over the River Styx. Ready, set, … go. I let myself flop into it. Instant pain overcame my body. Okay, I thought, not to bad yet. Then is started to burn. I could feel it all around me. My life was disintegrating.
"I warned you." I heard a voice echoing in my head. Dad.
"D-dad…" Suddenly I felt a uncontrollable power come over me. I watched as the river parted around me. I touched the front of my thigh and it tingled. The process had worked. My wounds from the battle with Nyx, the minor goddess of darkness and night, (Which by the way, had resulted in her giving me a necklace embedded with obsidian which gave me full control of shadows) had healed. I walked to the shore and collapsed, and was about to fall to asleep when I released a dark figure was looming above me. I looked up and saw dad's iconic black cloak of souls. And around him were shadowy skeleton figures.
"Dad… I-Im sorry…" I gasp.
"I fear it's to late for that, my son." Dad had an expression that the classic Hades stereotypes never exactly made people think of. He was crying, although instantly once he realized it he cleaned up his face and morphed it into a stern look. "I will not have you in my realm." The caverns around us trembled like in a earthquake. I leapt to my feet angrily and willed the shadows to swirl around me.
"You've got no right to tell me if I can bathe in the Styx! The ancient laws say it I the hero's choice!" I instantly wanted to take back what I had said. Dad turned the shadows against me and they exploded sending me flying. Although luckily, not touching my mortal spot.
"I will not tolerate such impudence!" Dad boomed. "You shall be doomed to a fate that I will create! You will learn what it means to be cast off!" Hades' eyes glowed a menacing crimson. "I hereby decree that you, Nico Di Angelo will be unable to step into of the borders of camp half blood! I banish you from my realm! I turn all of your so-called friends against you! You want power? I will give you power! TWICE the power you posses now! But you must suffer the eternal consequence of neglected immortality! SO IS THE WORD OF HADES!" The rumbling stopped. My face was stricken with horror. And for the last five seconds I had in dad's realm, all I saw was his total and utter hatred for me as black lightning crackled around him. Then, the shadows around me clawed at me and dragged met through the wall, right into a subway. All around me was the chrome and stainless steel world of the mortals. I was banished. The heir to my father, his pride and joy, one of the saviors of Olympus, banished.
