"Wow, you go all out for Christmas!" Nick said, admiring Monroe's extensive set-up.
"Christmas is amazing. The most wonderful time of the year man," Monroe replied.
"I get you," Nick said. "But really, do you have like an 80 year old woman helping you decorate?"
"Hey, I don't hate on your decorations, why do you have to be so anti- about mine?" Monroe asked.
"Sorry, I'm just busy trying to solve a crime here."
Nick explained about what he needed from Monroe, Monroe balked at the idea of helping him originally, but in the end decided to help Nick out. (You know the drill).
"Can you imagine, if we can help this girl, what a Christmas that will make for her," Monroe said.
"I don't think Christmas has meant a lot to her in the past. But giving her a good one now, that would be the best way to end this case," Nick replied.
As Nick watched Holly embrace her adoptive mother, he remembered what Monroe had said. This Christmas was sure to be the best one for both Holly and Mrs. Clark. They had each other, and that was the best thing that anyone could ever ask for for Christmas.
