Casey Abrams has loved Haley Reinhart since they bonded in the top 11. He'll never forget when he was almost eliminated and he saw Haley cry. She also shed those same tears when he was eliminated when he was in the top 6. To him, that meant something. He figured they just had a really good friendship. But his heart told him it was more. Every time she would laugh, or even look at him, he became woozy and was in awe of her beauty. They went on the nationwide tour together, and had the time of their lives.
Now it was the last day in the Philippines. He had to tell her before she was out of his life forever. He swallowed his fears and nerves and walked over to the tour bus, and knocked lightly. Thia Megia, a fellow contestant, answered the door.
"Oh hello Casey." The teen smiled down at him. Casey's nerves came back up when he saw Haley sitting on the couch inside.
"C-can I speak with Haley please?" Casey shoved his hands in his pockets and waited anxiously for the beauty to arrive. It took a while. He began to doubt himself. This was stupid. She'll never love me back. He thought to himself. Just as he was about to walk away, the creak of the door was heard, and out came Haley, looking stunning in a tank top and shorts.
"Hey stranger." She joked, smiling up at him.
"Hey." He mumbled. Casey tried to make eye contact with her, but her hypnotizing brown eyes made it impossible to resist. He was fidgety and didn't know where to place his arms.
"You okay, Case?" Haley noticed him moving about. An nice breeze came by, sort of cooling Casey off from the nervous sweat he had.
"H-Haley…" He began. He thought for a second, remembering how he practiced. "We've known each other for a while now, and i-in this time, things have changed." Haley furrowed her brow, and tilted her head. Casey continued. "At first, we were the best of friends. I felt so connected to you when we met. We like the same music, have the same kind of style of voice, and have more in common than I do with anyone else." He looked up at the bright moon shining down on Haley perfectly, showing her radiant beauty even more.
"But now, I feel different. Those similarities, and this whole adventure of these last few months changed my mind. We've said in interviews multiple times that we're not dating." He looked up from his feet, to Haley to see if she was reacting in any way. She stood with her arms on her hips and her eyebrows up.
"Yes." She spoke with a great grin on her face. Casey was confused.
"Yes what?" He pursed his lips.
"Yes to I'll be your girlfriend." Casey was so surprised, the stepped back a bit. Haley reached out to catch him.
"W-what?" The curly haired man was still shocked. He had no idea what to say.
"Case, I agree. We are the best of friends. And that's what will make us a great couple. I've been feeling this way for a long time as well, but always thought you weren't interested." Haley grinned and played with her fingers.
"Haley, I've loved you since we bonded back in the top 11." Casey finally managed to say. Haley bit her lip and smiled up at him. Casey reached his hands out to hers and entangled their fingers.
"Casey…" Haley looked straight into his aqua eyes, leaving her speechless. "I-I'm pretty sure we're meant to be together."
