Breathless
by the Yellow Dart
As Padmé strode along a busy city walkway thinking about the speech she was about to give on the Senate floor, she was nearly oblivious to the beings around her. As she passed a dark alcove between two tall buildings, she was surprised to feel something cold and metallic wrap around her waist.
Before she had a chance to scream, a warm, human hand covered her mouth. The metallic arm pulled her into the dark alcove. Although she kicked and squirmed, she was no match for her captor.
Leaning against her captor's solid chest, she realized just who had grabbed her. After her realization, her struggling stopped.
After she had calmed, her captor spun her around and removed his hand from her mouth. Although she could barely see him through the darkness, she could tell that he was proud of himself.
"Anakin!" she exclaimed in an excited whisper, not wanting any passing being on the street to sense their presence. "You scared me."
With a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, he said, "I know."
Without another word, he gathered her face between his hands and guided his lips to hers. He explored her mouth with an urgency of months spent apart. His tongue swept against her lips, possessively demanding entry.
Almost instantly, she surrendered herself to him. Her body grew weak as she fused her lips to his over and over again, unable to stop, even to catch her breath. She melted against his chest as her fingers laced through his hair. In the back of her mind, she realized that his hair was several inches longer than she remembered.
Then, all of a sudden, he broke the kiss, leaving her gasping for breath. Staring at her apologetically, eyes filled with longing, he whispered, "I sense Obi-Wan. I have to go." He ran a finger down her cheek stopping against her lips. "See you tonight."
Before she had a chance to respond, he was gone.
After just a moment, she straightened her dress and her hair and judged herself presentable. Sort of. Maybe that speech would have to wait until tomorrow.
