Chapter 1.
Abby & Ashley meet Stanley Yelnats IV
In Texas, Abby the Camel & Ashley the Vulture were having a holiday together since their families were on their own holidays, Abby's Mother [Sarah] and Abby's Father [Abdullah] were on holiday in Australia, while her older brother [Donald] was on holiday at the Hotel Camel Manila and Ashley's Mother [Alice] and Ashley's Father [Barnaby] were on holiday in America, while her twin brother [James] was on holiday at the Warner Vultures Hotel in London.
On one of Abby's humps [for she was a Bactrian] was Abby's blue backpack with stars on it, it contained her Dinosaur Diary, her pens, pencil and paper, her MP3 and Scrapbook and on her second hump was Ashley's red backpack with crocodiles on it, it contained her Dinosaur Book, her Notebook, her crocodile pen, her "Naughty Naughty Kiefer" book and her MP3.
"Ashley," said Abby, "do you think we'll meet someone?"
Ashley did not say anything, they continued on until when they passed a school, they noticed a 14 year-old boy with fair skin and brown hair walk out of the building carrying a wet Notebook, he did not notice Abby and Ashley because he was too busy paying attention to his wet Notebook until he bumped into Abby and fell on to the payment and passed out for a few minutes.
When he came through he saw Abby and Ashley looking down at him and it made him jump and then as he got up Ashley spoke:
"Hello." He nearly jump out of his skin when he heard his word and he asked Ashley: "Do you Vulture say something, and why do you have this camel with you?"
"We will introduce ourselves," said Abby, "I am Abby the Camel."
"And I am Ashley the Vulture," said Ashley, "what is your name?"
"My name is Stanley Yelnats IV," said the boy.
"An IV?" asked Abby.
"Yes," said Stanley and he invited Ashley and Abby to come home with him to meet the Yelnats Family and they walked through the streets of Texas, Stanley told all them about his family life.
"You see, Abby and Ashley," said Stanley, "I always seem to be in the wrong place at wrong time."
"Whys that?" asked Ashley.
"Well," said Stanley, "My Grandpa Stanley Yelnats II, say it's all because of this 150-year-old curse."
Abby remembered when she was calf; her dad had once told her that curses do not excess, but she did not say anything at all and just listened to Stanley.
"Now, I don't really believe in the family curse," said Stanley, "But when things go wrong, it kind of helps if you can blame it on something."
As they walk passed a bridge a pair of shoes with Red Xs on them came flying from out of the sky and they hit Stanley and fell to the ground.
"Are you ok Stanley?" asked Abby.
"Yes Abby," said Stanley as he got up. When he saw the Shoes, he walked over to the Shoes and picked them up and he took a sniff of them.
"Oh, jeez! Oh," said Stanley, for they smelled really bad and Ashley began to panic and she said to Stanley:
"Put those shoes down, they might be stolen shoes, and we might get accused of stealing them!"
"I think it is too late for that," said Abby, "because I think I hear the police Sirens the police are after us we better run."
So Stanley, Abby and Ashley began run, they ran and ran but the police sirens got louder and louder and the police cars blocked their way and two policemen came out and said to Stanley:
"Come here, boy! Hold it right there! Did you steal those shoes?"
"Officer, I didn't do anything," said Stanley.
