Prologue:

"Mummy, mummy! Look what I made!" little Elizabeth squealed. She ran up to her mother's bedside with a paper in hand.

"Yes, Lizzy dear?" Alice's hoarse voice whispered. Ms. Kingsley was lying in her bed due to a horrible illness; she was on the verge of death. She couldn't help to all but smile at her energetic six year old girl jumping impatiently next to her.

"I drew a picture!" Elizabeth shoved the drawing under her mother's nose. "See? There's the sky, and the clouds, and trees, and the little white rabbit, and -" Alice's eyes lay transfixed on the white rabbit by the oak tree. Something about it made it seem as though she had seen it before. But she couldn't have, could she? Who has ever seen a rabbit with a black vest and a pocket watch?

"Lizzy, why did you draw this rabbit with a pocket watch?"

"Because she told me to." Elizabeth answered simply.

"She? The rabbit is a woman?"

"No! The rabbit is a boy. But she told me to draw him."

"Who is 'she' Lizzy?"

"Her." Elizabeth pointed to a corner in the room, indicating that somebody was occupying that space.

Alice was thoroughly confused. "Okay sweetie. I think it's time to put on your nightgown and go to sleep. Say goodnight to 'her'."

"Yes ma'am. Goodnight mummy!" she gave her mother a big hug then turned back to the corner and waved. "Goodnight to you too, Mistress!"

Without another word, Elizabeth skipped off to her room and changed into her nightgown. She blew all of the candles out, then drifted off into a land of strange creatures and their strange habits. Little did she know that this happy dream world of hers was soon to be a corrupt place where the only happiness found, was a way out.

A/N:

Thank you so much! This is my first story, so please… no hate. I love Alice in Wonderland/ Alice Through the Looking Glass so much that I thought I would do a story about it. For future notice, this is going to be pretty dark and have violence. Love all of you!
