Just a random drabble I thought of. Hope you all like it!

Disclaimer:- I don't own Fairytail. The plot in this story is mine though.

Too old

"What's the matter, Jellal?" Meredy asked for the nth time. There was no reply. All the blue-haired mage did was gloom in the corner.

"Let him be Meredy," Ultear replied with a sigh. Sometimes, assuring him was useless.

"That means, you know Ul," she asked, her eyes wide in expectation for an answer.

"Why don't we not talk about it?" the older woman shrugged. She didn't want to bring up the matter and make the once fearsome mage whimper.

"Tell me, ne Ul. We're a team. You can't keep a secret from me," Meredy asked with hopeful eyes which the raven-haired woman couldn't refuse to answer. She cleared her throat and mumbled something in a low voice that couldn't even reach the pinkette's ears.

"What? What was that now?" she asked, moving close to the woman and lending her an ear.

"He feels he is too old," she said. The younger woman held a baffled expression.

"He's too old. Of course he's old. He's twenty four now. Yeah, maybe not too old but he is older than me."

"Meredy," Ultear grunted, her eyes directing her to stop with the flow of the words.

"He's younger than you, may be. But he's definitely older than Juvia-chan, Gray, Natsu, Lucy, Wendy, Happy, Charle. Yeah, of course he's younger than Makarov-san. How can I forget he'll be seven years older than Erza-san? What a difficulty!" Meredy's ears perked up to a yelp from the heavenly magic user. She saw Ultear slap her head while the other guy still cowered in the corner.

"It shouldn't matter ne Ul? He wasn't going to confess to her either way," Meredy whispered in her companion's ear.

"Sure. However, if he was ever planning to, his hopes were crushed after he realised that fact. He's freaking seven years older than her! It didn't bother him until last night in his dream, that is night mare according to him, Erza rejected him because he was seven years older than her. Poor guy, he got rejected in a dream when he will be accepted in reality," Ultear whispered back. Meredy nodded in understanding before letting a smile spread across his face.

"Atleast he could confess in his dream, something which he couldn't do in reality," Meredy giggled, causing her friend to join her soon. Their dear blue haired friend was hopeless… Really hopeless…

How was it? Since you've reached this far, why not share your opinion? I would love to hear it.
