My Dear Love
By. Briannah Hauff
I park right in front of a 70's style diner. I couldn't remember the last time I had eaten. As I was getting out of the car, I got a huge whiff of french fries. They filled my nostrils, and made my mouth water. Going inside I could feel the eyes staring me down, wondering where I came from. Right when I sat down at a booth, a waitress came up and asked, "Welcome to Grease, what would you like to order?" "Can I have your bacon cheeseburger with a Sprite?" "Sure thing honey."
A cold chill came into the diner, making me draw the leather jacket closer to myself. I could smell his cologne all over the jacket, and remembered he wore it all the time. It was his favorite jacket. I could remember the night, all too well. The street lights dimly lit into the car. The forested landscape sped past us. Sam raced down the road, trying to get to the hospital. I was sitting in the back, comforting Dean, for he was dying in my arms.
I was brought back to reality, when she came back with my food. "Here you go hon, hope you like it." "Thanks." The burger was phenomenal, I knew Dean would have loved it, being that it was his favorite food. I went back to that night. We were only a few miles away from the hospital. Dean looked up at me, "Do you know what sounds good right now?" "No. What?" "A bacon cheeseburger."
I finished my meal and payed for it. As I walked outside, the chilly air surrounded me, making me pull the jacket closer. The smell of the cologne made my eyes start to water. I slid into my car, turned the ignition, and started the car. When I did, the song Ramble On by Led Zeppelin came on. I smiled and laughed a little, since this was Dean's favorite song. How ironic. After listening to the song for a while, I finally put the gear in drive, and slowly drive away from the diner, Grease.
