I don't own any of these characters except for Scoobie. The rest are owned by who the heck ever.

Submariners do it Deeper…

Deep Six stopped midstride and sighed heavily as he heard the yelling from the crowd on the docks. Shipwreck and Torpedo had decided to "initiate" the newest member of the "Water Rats", Scoobie. Everyone else was there to see who would win the battle of wills.

Scoobie was a professional scuba and skin diving instructor in her spare time and here in the Navy, she was an underwater demolitions expert. Her firm, toned, athletic body generated interest from most of the male population that she had contact with. Deep Six had not yet met her, but he knew her record.

Deep Six sighed and stalked over to the dock to break things up. As the senior officer in charge of the department, it was up to him to keep things in line.

"Damn," he sighed. "It's worse than having three kids running amok," he thought. "Okay you two, knock it off before somebody gets-" He growled, beginning to chastise the pair of male Joes when he finally caught sight of their target.

Shipwreck and Torpedo stopped in amazement, laughing as they realized what they were seeing. Deep Six was in shock! His jaw agape, the cigar that he normally had in his mouth, rolled forgotten across the dock.

Long blond braid hanging over her shoulder dripping water, and icy silver violet eyes looked back at him, not the least bit imtimidated.

"What in the world are you two doing?" snarled Deep Six. The laughter died abruptly.

"We were only trying to see how far down she could go while holding her breath," Shipwreck explained after he caught his breath.

"Torpedo thinks he can go farther than she can. She's trying to prove him wrong."

"Ain't no little slip of a female going to beat me," Torpedo rumbled.

Deep Six takes a diving ring and tosses it in. As it sinks to the bottom, he challenges the trio. "Okay you two. You want to see who can go the farthest, we'll see who can go the farthest."

Deep Six, Torpedo and Scoobie line up at the end of the dock. When Shipwreck gives them the signal, they all three dive off into the deep, murky water, each one knifing through the surface.

As Torpedo swims downward, he sees that other two spiraling around each other on the way down, like a pair of sharks circling prey. His lungs start to burn and he gives up. As he turns and swims upwards, he reflects on what he's seen.

Just a couple of moments later, Scoobie finally comes up for air. She shakes the water out of her eyes and pops her jaw to relieve the pressure in her ears.

At length, Deep Six comes up, carrying the dive ring. "See, I keep telling you guys," he says with a straight face. "Submariners do it deeper."

Scoobie falls off of the dock, she's laughing so hard. The other two are deep in shock. Deep Six never made jokes.

He swims over and helps Scoobie back to the dock, giving her a boost up. Even though she feels his hand on her butt, she knew it wasn't intentional. That is, until she felt the slight squeeze. His eyes flash and he joins in as she laughs at the rest of the crowd on the docks. All of them had looks of amazement on their faces, including Hawk.
