Summary: What changes when separated. Oneshot. Hint of Sakura and Syaoran
A/N: Actually, I don't have anything to say.
Disclaimer: I do not own CCS.
Still the Same
It was the 30th day of July, nearly two months since Sakura and Syaoran have entered separate colleges.
As promised, they would, at least, meet once in a week in whatever way they could. It may not really seem that long for the rest of the graduates yet it was for them, too long that a day seemed like a year which somehow established an unknown gap between the two. Unlike before when they were in high school even doing things together at all times, it felt like they could just talk to each other all day and night with endless things in mind, like time would never be enough to satisfy their need to be in each other's presence.
But now, they sat in silence, suddenly telling the other what they had thought of out of the blue. Then silence. Just that, nothing akin to what they had before. The thoughts were there but they weren't of reach to convey them for some stupid still unknown reason that they both wished didn't exist.
It wasn't like the silent talk they used to have before when Sakura would ask him, "I need someone to listen to my silence, will you please do?"; however, she felt nothing wrong with that moment except for the unbecoming silence that he allowed to sit between them.
It wasn't normal, definitely not.
She had already tried querying him but only received a response such as I'm fine in a very melancholic tone. Then he would return his gaze to the floor, eyes steady and blank. She wanted to help him, comfort him, warm him, make him smile but couldn't think of a means to do it.
She stood up and placed herself next to him, combed his hair with her fingers and gave him a pat on the back. "Li, I'm just here."
