The floorboards creek outside the room. Kai sits up on his bed and listens. The door slowly opens and Jinora peeks her head though the now jared door.
"I couldn't sleep," she said.
"You can stay with me here till you fall asleep if you'd like."
Jinora shuts the door behind her as she stumbles to Kai's bedside. She climbs on the bed and wriggles into his arms. The two lie in the bed and stare up at the ceiling when
Kai slowly slivers his hand down to Jinora's and hold's it; locking fingers their hearts start to rapidly beat.
Jinora sit's up and looks across the room.
"Do you like me Kai?"
Kai sit's up and stares at the back of Jinora
"Of course I do, I wouldn't be who I am today without you to help and teach me."
"But I mean not just as a teacher or friend."
Kai puts his hand on her side swaying Jinora to turn her body to face him.
They say nothing.
A longing look cumbers as they stare into each others eyes. Kai's lip trembles and his eyes clench. He looks back upon Jinora and leans in to kiss her; they lock lips and Jinora's face flushes with red; Kai's hand rising from her side to her face. He pulls away and moves a piece of hair that's dangling down to tuck it behind her ear.
"Yes more than a friend."
