Living the Life

-By Midnightshades

AN: First Ouran Host Club fic. No pairings or romance. Just an introspective one-shot.

Enjoy

Fujioka Haruhi used to dream about being rich when she was young. It wasn't like she was greedy or wanted to live luxuriously, but she had thought if her family was rich than life would be easier. That maybe her father wouldn't have to work so much.

Though it wasn't like he hated his job or anything….

Putting that aside, Haruhi thought it would be nice to not have to be so careful with money. That it wouldn't be necessary to look out for sales and stuff like that. Haruhi thought that if she was rich life would be simple.

How naïve she was back then…

When she originally entered Ouran High, she had thought that some of the students' personalities were questionable, but they were still people. It was true that they lived luxuriously, and that they all had personal chauffeurs and servants to attend to them whenever they needed them, but that was just them.

When she met the host club, she realized rich people were bastards.

Take Tamaki for example. He carelessly flung money around like it was trash, buying anything and everything that was unfortunate enough to spark his interest. He was loud and annoying, and so goddamn persistent about dragging her with him everywhere. Furthermore he was so stupid about anything that required common knowledge. It gave her a headache just thinking about it.

Kyouya was fairly normal, sans the overly evil and calculative side of him. He had a goal in mind, and he knew how to work in order to achieve that. It was just that his methods were a bit questionable. Usually that didn't lack in efficiency, but whether it was morally right or not….

Hikaru and Kaoru were almost as bad as Tamaki. Both were demonic in their actions, and extremely self-centered. But they were different. Kaoru was pretty nice, and he was fairly rational, unlike his older brother, but whatever Hikaru did, Kaoru did. Pity, he could've been such a nice boy too. Hikaru was less mature, not to mention a little more clueless than Kaoru, but he tried. Sometimes. Point is they were both evil.

Honey was sweet. He was cute, cheerful, and just overall lovable. But his selective clueless-ness and his poweress frightened her. Mori was just Mori.

She knew that they were all good people in their own rights, and she couldn't deny the fact that they were all friends, but when she was squished between Tamaki and the twins, with Kyouya muttering about how much her debt had increased, and Honey and Mori doing nothing to help her, she couldn't help but to think…..

Rich people are bastards.
