Tony saw Kate move towards Suzanne, as the bomb maker dropped her compound. The agents were thrown back by the blast and covered with rubble from the building. When Tony came to, all he saw around him was a cloud of smoke. "Kate, Gibbs!" Tony yelled in an attempt to locate his fellow agents.
"I'm over here Tony, but I don't know where Kate is." His boss called, picking himself up from under the rubble.
Tony was trying to remember where Kate had been when the bomb went off. He figured out about where she was so he tried to make it over there while he was calling her by name. "Hey Gibbs I think I know about where she was when the bomb went off but I don't know if she is there or not, where are you?"
"I think I'm near the exit, but I'm trapped from where you are." At first there wasn't any answer. "Tony!"
"Hey Boss, I think I found her, but she's not moving and there's debris in the way. I'm trying to find a way around. You go ahead and get out, I'll get Kate."
"Tony..."
"Gibbs, I got her. You said yourself you're trapped, so you can't help anyway, so go ahead and get outside. Make sure the fire department and the ambulance is on the way."
"Ok, Tony, just get out safely and make sure Kate is ok." He reluctantly left his agent, as he found his way outside.
"Kate, Kate, are you ok? KATE!" As his boss headed outside, Tony tried to remove the debris. Once he finally did, he just saw Kate laying there. He checked her neck for a pulse and determined that she was alive, and not too badly scratched up. She seemed to be conscious; she was blinking, but just in shock. He tried to get her to stand up. He saw that she was just staring into space, ignoring him and his attempts to help her. He was wondering what she was thinking about, but he thought it probably had something to do with Suzanne McNeil blowing up the building after she had really started to like her. "Kate you got to help me here. I can see you're conscious, because you're blinking, and I know you're in shock, but I need your help." Tony tried his hardest to sound sincere, but also stern enough to get her to budge. She finally stood up, still with a blank, vacant look etched on her face. Tony helped her up and, putting her arm around his shoulder, he looked through the smoke and debris to try to find a way out. Once he finally did, he walked out with Kate, who still didn't speak or respond to her fellow agent in any other way. When they got outside, the ambulance was already at the scene. He walked with her to the ambulance, and sat her down. She remained silent and meditative as they began fixing her up.
Once Tony knew that Kate was being taken care of, that they were treating her wounds, and that she would be okay, he went over to Gibbs and started talking to him about what had happened.
