Prologue
Staring out of the old, decaying window, I wondered idly why no one had bothered to clean it. Though if I were being honest with myself, I couldn't of cared less about the state of the mansion if I tried. But could anyone really blame me for desperately trying to distract myself from what was going to take place in the next few minutes?
Unfortunately this was going to be the worst moment of my life, so of course nothing would take my mind off it. Sighing, I looked out of the neglected window again into the dark, cloudless night, noticing the moon above was almost in the middle of the sky.
Midnight would be my death, and I wouldn't even get to see him again.
A few tears stung my eyes, and I stared at them in my murky reflection. Brushing them away, I smiled ruefully.
It was better this way. Nothing would harm him again, and I could let my life go peacefully in that knowledge. So long as I knew he was alright, I could go through with this willingly. No pain would befall him, so long as he was away from me.
I tucked a scarlet lock of hair away from my face like he used to, my smile turning fond at the memory.
This is how I would spend the last minutes of my life, I decided.
If they had to take him from me, so be it, but I wouldn't let them make me forget. I could never forget him.
So, spending my last few moments in the dusty, silent room, I closed my eyes and remembered the only man that had ever made my skin burn alive in passion. This same man had made my heart burst with happiness, when I hadn't thought it possible for me to have such a gift again.
And along with all this...he'd been the man that had both loved and broken my soul.

Okay everyone this is a vampire fanfiction for Teen titans, so if you don't like vamps I suggest you don't read on ^^
Anyway I may know of twilight, but I haven't copied any of its story lines. This fanfic is purely from my imagination and I'll be putting my own spin on vampires. ^^
