"Life's a bumpy road" Sonny Monroe's mother.
Sonny Monroe sighs and bites her lip as the curtain falls down covering her and her cast mates.
"Good job Tawni," Marshall hands out the compliments like candy;
"Great work Nico!"
"Awesome sketch Grady – you were HILARIOUS!!!"
"Fab acting Zora, you'll go far kiddo!"
Sonny smiles, and waits expectantly for what Marshall's going to say to her but he just walks off – completely blanking her. Sonny sighs, she shouldn't even bother getting her hopes up – nobody notices and nobody cares. They ignore the fact that it was Sonny who wrote the sketch, who writes every sketch. She's the one who stays behind to clean up; runs errands for all of her cast mates and the only one who even tries to be positive on and off camera. But does that matter? No; she sighs and looks over at Tawni who's canoodling with her boyfriend – Chad.
The guy she's loved for nearly an entire year now; the only guy that can make her smile and cry within the same minute, the guy that she knows has a heart – even if he covers it up with his stupid ego and the only guy that she can ever see herself with forever and ever. He's the first thing she thinks about when she wakes up, the last thing she thinks about before going to bed and the only thing she thinks about in all the spaces between. The catch is he doesn't notice her, he's too busy smooching his obnoxious brat of a girlfriend to know, that it was she who wrote that song for him, not Tawni, she's the only one who makes him smile and most importantly that together they'd be the ultimate couple – not him and her.
Tawni walks past and glares at Sonny, "Sonny, Chad and I'll be hanging out in our dressing room so you'll have to go change somewhere else, like I don't know, Wisconsin? And you don't even need to bother coming back!" She cackled at her own joke as she and Chad walked off, Chad shot Sonny a sympathetic glance before wandering off, his arm wrapped around Tawni. Sonny waits for them to leave before letting the tears roll down her cheeks, she would give anything to be Tawni right now; to not have to work and have people do things for her. It was so unfair! She was the one who made peace with the 'Falls' and who gets Chad? Tawni.
"Relax Sonny, you're exaggerating, it's just another bump in the road" She tells herself, but the tears still keep rolling down. You see, as her mother always said: 'life's a bumpy road, and nobody realises how much each bump can hurt.'
