"Grissom, you ready?" Catherine asked, flipping her blond hair over her shoulder. Grissom looked up from his desk and smiled at Catherine.
"I'm almost done." Grissom told her, scribbling something on a piece of paper. Everyone else had left the building, except for Brass and the others who were on call that day.
"Grissom, hurry up!" Catherine said.
"I'm coming." Grissom stood up from his desk and walked over to her. They nodded at Brass as he passed by them, an unreadable expression on his face.
"It's cold." Grissom told Catherine. Catherine nodded - it was a cold night in February - what'd you expect?
"Don't be such a wuss." Catherine teased. Grissom rolled his eyes and followed Catherine. He wasn't sure where they were going, but he was happy just being with her.
"Live in my house
I'll be your shelter
Just pay me back with one thousand kisses
Be my lover and I'll cover you." Catherine crooned, taking Grissom's hand in hers.
"Open your door
I'll be your tenant
Don't got much baggage to lay at your feet
But sweet kisses I've got to spare
I'll be there and I'll cover you." Grissom sang back, gently squeezing Catherine's hand. They were headed down the Las Vegas strip, enjoying each other's company.
"I think they meant it
When they said you can't buy love
Now I know you can rent it
A new lease you are my love
On life
Be my life." The two of them were in complete unison, smiling at a vendor once in a while. Grissom saw Catherine's eyes light up when they came to a vendor selling coats. The one he wore was thin and had holes everywhere.
"Just slip me on
I'll be your blanket
Wherever, whatever
I'll be your coat." They sang as Catherine slipped Grissom's coat off so that he could try on some. The first one he tried on was too heavy. The second - too light. The third was perfect. Catherine paid for it while Grissom threw his old coat away and took Catherine's hand in his.
"You'll be my king and I'll be your castle." Catherine told Grissom, smiling at how handsome he looked.
"No, you'll be my queen and I'll be your moat." Grissom argued, bringing Catherine's hand to his lips and kissed it. Catherine smiled and clung to Grissom as they continued down the strip.
"I think they meant it when they said you can't buy love
Now I know you can rent it and a new lease you are my life
On life
All my life
I've learned to discover something as true as this is." They sang, silently praying that the sidewalks barely had any people on them.
"So, with a thousand sweet kisses
I'll cover you
With a thousand sweet kisses
I'll cover you
When you're worn out and tired
When your heart has expired." Grissom sang. He was so happy to be with Catherine.
"If you're cold and you're lonely
You've got one nickel only
With a thousand sweet kisses
I'll cover you
With a thousand sweet kisses
I'll cover you." Catherine sang in counterpoint.
"Oh lover I'll cover you
Yeah
Oh lover I'll cover you." They sang. Grissom put his hands on Catherine's jaw and drew her face closer to his, kissing her right in the middle of the Vegas Strip.
He didn't see how that night could be any more perfect.
