Stay With Me
By Laura
Baby, the clock on the wall is lying
It's not really that late
It's too cold outside to be walking around
the streets of this town
Anywhere if you think you have to be can wait
Amy rose from the bed and reached for a new dress. It was morning now and she had things to do, being high queen and all. Peter watched her get ready for the day from their bed and when she went to open the door, Peter rose and stopped her.
"Amy where are you going?" He asked. He wrapped his arms around her and looked into her eyes.
"Peter you know very well where I'm going." She smiled "Now let me go."
Peter shook his head and pretended to look sad. "Stay with me."
(Baby) Why don't you stay with me
Share all your secrets tonight
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me, yeah
"Peter I can't. I have things to do" Amy sighed. "As do you, if I recall correctly."
Peter pulled her closer "They can wait. I want to stay with you all day. Please, it's been so long since we spent a day together. Your duties can wait, as can mine" he replied.
Amy felt his breath at her ear and shivered. It had been a long time since they could spend their day together. Sometimes she wondered why she married the High King of Narnia in the first place. Then she looked into his eyes and fell all over again, suddenly remembering the reason she put up with all this pressure. Baby, there's just no use in hiding (Baby) So why don't you stay with me share all your secrets tonight
The way that I am feeling right now
With you standing there baby I swear I can't help but stare
Girl you're wearing me out, wearing me out
We can make believe
the morning sun never will rise
Peter pulled her towards their bed and sat down still holding her hands. Amy sighed, "Peter I'm not going to spend the whole day doing that."
Suddenly thunder clapped and both turned to the window.
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed Baby don't go it looks like it's starting to rain
We'll be alright as long as you stay with me
And it's so warm here in this apartment wrapped up in this blanket
Peter turned back to Amy and smiled. "Looks like it's raining. We might have to stay here the whole day." He grinned.
Amy frowned, "You just don't stop do you?"
Peter pulled her down onto his lap and started kissing her neck, trailing his lips from below her ear to her shoulders. "Why should I stop? You like this as much as I do. I can feel it." he smiled.
"Are we getting telepathic?" Amy smiled and nuzzled his neck.
"I think it might be rubbing off on me. Sometimes I can feel what you're feeling." He stated.
Amy turned his face towards her and kissed him. "Do you know what I'm feeling now?" she asked. (Baby) Why don't you stay with me
Share all your secrets tonight
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me
Stay with me
Suddenly a knock came to the door. Amy rose from Peter's lap and felt the sudden coldness as his hands left her. She answered the door to see Edmund standing there. "Where's Peter?" he asked
"Peter's taking the day off, as am I. We need some time to catch up. You're High King for the day. Try not to kill anyone." She replied and shut the door. She leaned against it and sighed.
"Annoyed." Peter stated
"Annoyed?"
"That is what you're feeling right now." He smiled
Amy smiled and joined him on the bed. They really needed this vacation.
Edmund stood outside the door and shook his head, hearing Amy giggle. "Maybe Mary and I should take a day off." He muttered and walked away.
