One Act Makes The Difference

"Be careful, Yuzu!"

The pink-haired girl didn't turn around as she waved at her childhood friend, showing that she heard him. She continued to run as the city around her began to change shape, from lava and greenery to ice. It would have been beautiful, if there wasn't for the feeling that twisted the beauty around for her. She stopped running when she reached the snow-covered zone, rubbing her arms as she began to grow cold.

"I should have brought a jacket..." she muttered to herself. "Then again, how could I have known that I would be going to such a cold place today?" as she looked down at her duel disk to see who else could possibly be in this area with her, Yuzu heard strange crunching noises behind her. But when she turned around, there was nothing there. Confused and slightly annoyed, the Melodious duelist decided to walk on, out of the preying eyes' view... for now.

After what felt like hours later, Yuzu found herself in a huge, wide open area and readied her duel disk as she waited for her opponent to arrive. As soon as she heard the worried cries of two people who were skating down a slope, she relaxed, knowing that it was just that duo from the foreign schools that she had noticed during Yuya's speech.

Yuzu opened her mouth and was about to call out to them and challenge them to a duel, when a hand slid around her throat, causing her to gasp as her eyes widened in horror.

"Don't move." a silky but sinister voice spoke. "I've been waiting for a long time for you to come, Hiragi Yuzu."

The person just laughed as she tried to gasp out for help and, moments later, they were gone in a purple flash.

"Halil." Olga spoke up when they landed on somewhat solid ground. "Did you notice someone over there?"

"Huh? No." the boy replied. "I did hear a laugh but there is no one there, so I guess the person must have left!"

"Yeah..." the girl looked suspicious but the boy's constant chatter soon made her focus on keeping him in line rather than worrying about what they might have heard or seen.

Nobody noticed a pendulum card stuck in the snow, not until the next day when the girl's best friend came looking for her.

And he wouldn't find her.

So... thoughts? This is basically my attempt to write something else... anyways, Sora might appear in this fic but probably not soon since he (and Dennis) are goofing off in the Standard Dimension and they don't know that Yuri decided to act earlier. At this point, the AU happens. Serena still joins the Lancers after she met Yuya and he explained everything to her along with Shun, don't worry, and Yugo joins them as well after finding out their purpose from Tsukikage, who found him after he knocked out those Obelisk Force soldiers, but what's going to happen to Yuzu from now on is definitely an AU - even more so since I plan to have Ruri and Rin be more involved with their Standard counterpart and Yuri will be getting more love sooner too xD

It's also an AU in the matter that it has a headcanon. Yuzu speaks of her mother a bit more and, in this head canon, her mother is Chono Sanagi from Zexal, whom Yuzu's father met when he accidently went to the XYZ dimension prior to the invansion. How he managed to do that is not important to this fic, so I will leave you to guess that :D
