A/don't even know why I bother with that two-timing red-head. I mean, one minute he is proposing to me to power the gossip mills, not to mention to get my pulse racing, and then calling it off, saying it was just to provide a powerful finale for the stupid comic book. He had the guts to tell me that in reality he wants to be single all his life!
And in addition, he chose to propose to me at Pope Tate's. I was so thrilled that I happened to overlook that. Apart from it being a not-at-all special or romantic place, it was also blaringly public, and if Betty hadn't seen it herself, she would have definitely heard about it from someone.
We all know that that bleached blonde is ga-ga over Archie. It has been almost a week since that fateful day, and I heard she has already applied to a university abroad and is leaving soon. I say 'heard' because she has refused to speak to me or Archie when we call and when I tried visiting her yesterday, she slammed the door in my face. So it is obvious she knows. Archie is very upset about it and keeps thinking of ways to resolve the situation.
Daddy is also very upset. I always knew he didn't approve of Archie, but his blood pressure shoots up every time he receives a congratulatory phone call from one of his friends or business connections. Usually, they also ask to speak to me and I have to lie and pretend . Or else daddy will know the truth and would probably hire hitmen to kill Archie or something. I cant say I am not tempted, though.
I am also tempted to go on vacation to Paris or somewhere around, so I can get away from this mess my life has become at Riverdale. Who knows? I might even meet some swanky Frenchman and get hitched. i can then return with him and flaunt him in Archie's face, so he realizes what a mistake he has made.
