Me and My Pecopeco

A cheesy story about an assassin and a Pecopeco. Very first story, so go easy on me .. ONESHOT! XD [Comment 10/26/13]- I can't believe I submitted this while I was a fifteen-years-old.. Part of me wanted to delete this because of its cheesiness, and the rest of me wanted to keep this due to a dumb case of "Save The Nostalgia" disorder.

My very first ficcy so go easy on me. It's oneshot!

Me and My Pecopeco

A fourteen-year-old girl mischievously ran across the forest in Payon. Her long, blue hair bounced on her armored shoulders as she moved. The girl laughed happily for a moment but stopped after seeing a cliff in front of her. She turned around, her happiness slowly turning in to panic as she caught sight of what she were running from. Her pink eyes widened underneath her blinker after seeing seven orange flightless birds appear from the bushes.

These flightless birds, or Pecopeco, stopped in their tracks while one of them walked in front of the girl. The Pecopeco observed the girl. It looked at her shoulders, then her arms, and then on her Katar. The Pecopeco squawked angrily after seeing the weapon, earning it a squeak from the girl.

"Alright, alright! I'm sorry!" The girl smiled nervously at the angry Pecopeco. With a flick of her wrist, her retractable katar slid back to its container wrapped around her wrist. The Pecopeco again squawked agrily at the assassin..

"Fine! Take it if you want!" She reached for the pecopeco egg on her pocket but accidentally grabbed a fat earthworm instead and threw it at the seven-foot orange bird.

The Pecopeco's eyes widened.

Yuna put her arms behind her head. She sighed. "Stop following me, Peco.."

She turned around to see a male Pecopeco behind her. He squawked at her, giving Yuna a frustrated sigh. "I don't believe this.. You were angry at me earlier for stealing you'r friend's egg and now you're following me just because of that Earthworm. Well, guess what.." She pointed a finger on Peco's colorful beak. "I don't need a pet." Peco tilted his head. Yuna turned to her direction and continued to walk. Peco hesitated for awhile but followed her still. He grabbed her collar with his beak and threw her on his back. Yuna sat up.

"No.."

Peco turned his head around to look at Yuna with his pleading eyes. Yuna sighed. She needed a ride anyway, maybe a having Pecopeco for a pet wouldn't be so bad. After all, that Earthworm came from her. And giving a wild Pecopeco a chubby Earthworm would tame it for life.

A small smile escaped from the assassin's lips at the thought.

And besides,

"Fine.. I'll keep you." Yuna petted the Pecopeco's head.

It's hard to live a life without friends, even if you're an assassin.

And a Pecopeco CAN be considered as a friend.. And that's what Yuna needed the most.
