Chapter One: Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Sopov

0645 Hours Epsilon Eridani System, Planet Eridanus II, Insurrectionist Lieutenant Colonel Sopov's Headquarters, 2507

Looking back on it, Sopov only joined the Insurrectionist movement because of youthful enthusiasm, if you want to call 27 "youthful." However, he joined because it felt right, and he was sick and tired of the imperialistic United Nations Space Command, and its fascist laws. In officer training, he had proven to be a good tactician, and strategist, a quality few in his class possessed. He had been a leader, not a follower, and in 2504 he had organized a revolt against his drill instructors, taken over the campus, and held out for 67 days. He had taken no casualties, but his opponent had taken 78 percent casualties. He could have been killed, but he had been assigned a very tough job, and he knew it was his superior's ways of telling him go fuck yourself. Die and stop being a dick. But he hadn't died, he was still alive, and about to win this battle. "Sir, task forces A, B, C, and D are in position." A young commando, named Carl Hodges, snapped him out of his thoughts. "So?" Sopov inquired, testing Hodges. "So sir, we are ready to attack. The UNSC pigs won't get away this time." "Excellent. Prep my Pelican, and get me down there. I'm leading from the front, as always."
