The pain stopped coursing through my body, and I felt oddly…good. No more pain, just numbness. My favorite feeling. But why was I in pain? Along with the numbness, I feel weak. That's the only bad part. I hate weakness. Finally I can open my eyes.
The room I lay in is covered with hundreds of candles. The walls are the exact color of fresh blood, which is strangely compelling. Despite the darkness of the room, it looks bright as a rainy day. The room was almost shadowed, but it didn't have the slightest effect on my vision. I lay on a bed, and a soft, light blanket covered me from the waist down. I'm shirtless, but as I sit up I notice that I'm wearing loose, black pants. I also notice the three people standing around me, all sporting a pair of red eyes. Wonderful, Strigoi. Two men on the sides of the bed, and a woman by my exposed feet. The man to my right was tall and blonde, and had the weirdest look on his pale face. It was a mix between interest, and jealousy. What the hell? I didn't even know him. Why would he be jealous? Whatever, we'll most likely find out soon enough. The man to my left was wearing a ghost of a smile, and a long black cloak. He looked friendly. At least someone was. And the last person, oh, I knew her. Very well.
"Galina." I said. I feigned arrogance and sureness, when really I was completely confused. She only smiled, it was the creepy blonde who spoke.
"Dimitri, braht (брат) you've awoken. It's about time." He called me…brother... in Russian. That made me extremely uncomfortable, and sad. It reminded me of Ivan, he always called me that.
"Who the hell are you?" I said, I was not going to be friendly with Strigoi.
Nathan grinned again. "I'm you're awakener, Nathan. You know Galina, and this is Dom." He said, gesturing toward each person. Galina spoke next, and her words were shocked me as the memory flooded back, "And you're Strigoi."
