Introduction

Joan's POV

Her hair was long, sleek, and bleach blonde. Her stride was a perfect length and high-heeled shoes made a repeated clicking sound as she pranced down the hallway. She gracefully opened her locker, not wanting to break a nail.

I wondered who she was and where she came from. I knew almost every student at Arcadia High and I was positive I had never seen her before.

Adam walked over to me from across the hallway wondering why I looked so confused.

"Hey what's up?" He asked me politely.

"Have you ever seen her before?" I asked, slightly pointing towards the blonde girl down the hall.

"Uhhh…." Adam thought for a moment. "Ummm…..I don't think so….I don't know."

"Oh well you're no help!" I announced to Adam and I rushed down the hallway to see if Grace could do anything better.

I didn't even know myself why I was so into finding out who this girl was. I just felt like I had to. Like some one had ordered me to get every dirty detail about her, when nobody really had.

I reached the other end of the hallway to find Grace rummaging through her locker as if she was in some insane rush.

"Hey Grace," she glanced at me quickly then immediately returned to her rummaging, "what are you doing!?!" I said as I attempted to peer into her locker.

"It's none of your business!" She nearly shouted at me and then she slammed her locker closed and locked it tight. She raced down the hallway to class and she was sure going to be early which was completely unlike the Grace I knew.

It was 1:30 and with only a half-an-hour left in the school day I was quite shocked to not have seen god yet. He/she usually came at least once during the school day and from what I knew I hadn't seen a glimpse of him/her yet today. I was definitely glad about this, but it just felt weird not having god there all day, stalking me, ruining my life, it was different. I know I'm making a big deal about god not being here for only one day, but trust me; it's weird, really weird.

Another thing that was really weird was Grace. All day she was acting like she did at her locker this morning, as if she were looking for some thing or some one. She barely talked and she avoided people as much as possible. The minute the bell rang she rushed out the doors.
