Hey guys! Here's a really short drabble about Officer Shaw; takes place right after the last scene in "Bulletproof".

I love Shaw's character, he's quickly becoming one of my favorites! Don't really know why, but he just makes me smile. I hope nothing serious happens to him in next week's ep!

Anyways, just wrote this for fun, wasn't really planning on publishing this, but kinda want to get your guys' feedback.

Hope you enjoy! =)

Shaw glanced at the two people standing to his left before he started to drive off. His rear lights cast a halogen halo around them as he drove away.

He was worried about Sammy. The man could take care of himself, there was no doubt of that, but Shaw had seen enough crash-and-burn romances take place between partners to make him a little worried. Scratch that; very worried.

Sammy hadn't been in a real relationship since he had joined the force eight years ago. Hell, he couldn't even recall a single relationship Swarek had been since he had known him. Sure, there had been the occasional hookup that Sam loved to rub in his face, but nothing that lasted more than a night or two.

Sammy was more than a colleague, he was a genuine friend…except on poker nights, but that was a different thing altogether. He just didn't want to see him get hurt, and Andy McNally was just the sort to cause seeds of worry to become planted in his mind.

He had been keeping a close eye on the two ever since they had been partnered up. At first it was because he was looking out for McNally's well-being. Her dad had been his training officer, and he wanted to make sure Sam didn't shoot her or something, because last time Swarek had a partner, things didn't end so well.

But McNally's well-being quickly turned into a doubtful, wary watch regarding the both of them. A glance here, a sarcastic barb that could very well have a double meaning there, and that was enough for Shaw to become concerned about their relationship. There was a definite attraction on both sides. And today had just confirmed his suspicions, with Sam bending over backwards to help McNally.

Sure, he was her training officer and was there to help her, but there was a fine line between helping and holding her hand. Personal relationships between partners were frowned upon, but relationships between a training officer and their rookie? That was clearly a massive NO written in the rulebook.

That was why he had talked…well, at least tried to talk to Sammy in the parking lot tonight. He wanted to make sure he didn't get hurt. But Sam was Sam, and once he was fixated on something, there was no diverting his attention. He had seen this behavior in him before – just never directed towards a person. It was usually a case or something like that, but it had never been a person, let alone a rookie. A very pretty rookie, Shaw allowed, but still, rules were rules. Sam wasn't one for rules though.

Damn it, Sammy. Get your head screwed on!

Actually, he should probably have this talk with Jerry too. He had seen the obvious relationship between him and Officer Nash, even if everyone else was too dimwitted to.

The more he thought about this dilemma regarding Sam and Andy though, the more he ended up feeling like a hypocrite. The feeling was compounded when he drove up to his house, entered the front door, and saw his beautiful wife.

"Officer Shaw," she said smiling, "you're late." He smiled back at Alicia and kissed her.

Maybe he shouldn't be so worried. After all, if he could end up married to his former rookie for eleven years and counting, then maybe Sammy wasn't being so boneheaded after all.
