Chapter 1 - Renewal Reach
When Severus spots Sirius at Diagon Alley one day, he reaches out involuntarily before remembering they're no longer together.
(The movement does not go unnoticed by Sirius.)
Emotional
Severus struggles with his renewed feelings for Sirius. He's been too emotional lately for his own comfort.
(Sirius's mental walls against feelings for Severus weren't prepared for that devastated expression.)
Grief
Sometimes Severus is choked by grief, but now it's partly for the lost chance for love.
(Sirius feels the same grief, and he knows it's mutual. Severus needs him.)
Relief
Severus has not cried in a long time, but when Sirius shows up at his door, the tears just start falling.
(Sirius just holds him, almost sick with relief.)
Recovery
It's gradual, but they're both on the road to recovery.
Sirius now knows why Severus did what he did. Severus is forgiven, and it's a wonderful feeling.
