James Potter, Outcast
Disclaimer: I own no characters mentioned in DH. However, I do own the rest!
AN: I made up jobs for everyone because Rowling only told us Neville's job. Also, I didn't know James' or Lily's middle name so I made them up.
Summary: DH spoilers. James Potter, the first son of Harry Potter, feels all alone. He is always the one in trouble; he just knows that his parents love Albus and Lily more. And so it begins…
James Sirius Potter was a boy who looked exactly like the grandfather he was named for, and acted like him too. He knew he took after his grandfather, because Dad used to tell him stories at bedtime every night. Those stories were James' one link to his grandfather, and he ate them up. Just as his grandfather was a trouble maker, James was always in for a good laugh. It was especially easy to get a good laugh out of Lily, his younger sister, because she was three years younger. Albus, one year younger, was fairly easy to get a rise out of too, he took everything so seriously.
The Hogwarts express was ready to go; there was only a father and his son, almost ready to board.
"You'll look after your sister this year, won't you?" Harry Potter asked his eldest son, James. "You know how scary it is the first year".
At these words, James fumed. Since Albus' birth, he had been the protector, watching over his younger siblings. Mom never cared about him, as long as he was taking after his siblings, and Dad only cared enough to tell him stories about his grandfather. This was quite untrue, of course, Harry and Ginny loved James, but this was how James felt.
"She has Hugo, Albus and Rose to look after her. Why do I have to?" James whined.
Harry thought he knew what was going on and said, "Lily adores you, James. You don't have to follow her everywhere, just make sure she's ok whenever you see her". Finally, James conceded.
Just then, Lily ran up. "We saved you a seat James. Are you coming or what?"
James gave his Dad a quick hug and ran into the train.
So, that's the first chappy. Not great, but hey, that's why you review (hint, hint)! The next chappy will be on the train, and if anyone has any suggestions for friends of James, they would be greatly appreciated. Oh and, I had no clue how old James was so I just made him a year older than Albus. You would all agree that Teddy should be graduated by now, right? I'll try to update soon!
