Summer Love
ONE SHOT
It was the first day of summer.
Fifteen year old Miley lay in the soft, squishy sand, her silky, long brunette locks laid perfectly on her shoulders. While her bright, sparkling blue eyes stared at the horizon where the sun was setting soon. She was wearing her newly bought blue, floral summer dress, which brought out her eyes even more.
She loved summer; she loves the smell of the ocean and grass and the smell of charcoal from the barbecues. She loves the sounds of children's laugher, loves that musical ice cream truck that makes it way down the street every day and she especially loved the fact that there was no school.
Nick saw Miley lying down, so he walked over and crouched down to lie next to her.
Nick and Miley were best friends; they were inseparable ever since they met each other at the age of 3. They had spent the day together at the beach where the annual neighborhood barbecue was taking place.
During the day, they swam in the big, blue ocean, ate barbecue cooked burgers, flew kites, played volleyball and made sandcastles with the younger kids.
Miley thought it was a good start to the summer, she was having a blast and couldn't wait for the next few months.
"What are you thinking about Mi?" Nick said.
Miley giggled and replied "just thinking about the fun things that could happen this summer"
Nick smiled brightly, starting to think about it himself, and Miley reflected a smile back.
While lying on the sand they heard giggles and yells from another part of the beach, Robbie Ray had brought a huge sprinkler for the kids to play in.
Miley got a jolt of excitement and shot up from her spot on the sand. She jumped up and down and grabbed Nick's hand to drag him to the sprinkler.
"What the heck are you doing?" Nick asked.
"Let's go into the sprinkler!" Miley answered.
"I don't want to Miley!" Nick said.
"Come on Nick, live a little!" Miley yelled while tugging and running with Nick towards the watery fun.
Nick gave up resisting and just followed behind. They reached the sprinkler and instantly got wet.
Nick watched while Miley laughed and spun around, her wet hair clinging to her face while water droplets fell from her nose.
She's beautiful. Nick thought.
Miley pulled Nick closer and laughed loudly as he made a face because he was getting soaked. Miley danced around him; Nick laughed and decided to dance along.
By the end of the day everyone had joined in the sprinkler and dancing and laugher was heard from every part of the beach.
Nick pulled Miley close and they looked into each other's eyes, they slowly leaned in and shared a passionate kiss under the sprinkling water.
"Whoa", they both said when they pulled away then they smiled brightly at one another.
"I have a feeling this is going to be a great summer" Miley said.
Nick just answered with a smile and another kiss.

This is so crazy.. I didn't even know how to upload a story.. haha. Anyways, I had to do a creative writing short story for class and I was pretty happy with it so I decided to start uploading a story for my fan fiction! :)
