Draco rolled his eyes as his wife hurriedly tried to get ready for dinner. She'd made a turkey, mashed potatoes, and an apple pie, just because Scorpius was bringing a girl home. It was quite an occasion since their eldest child had never brought a girl home before. Hermione had wanted everything to be absolutely perfect.

The couple sat in the living room, waiting for their son to arrive. When the door opened to reveal Scorpius and the youngest Potter, Draco smiled in realization. Of course his son would want the Potter child. He was just like his father, always wanting the stubborn girl with a big heart; a real challenge. He glanced over at his wife and nearly laughed. Her eyes were wide, but happy, and she had a silly smile on her face.

"It's so good to see you, Lily." Hermione said as she stood up to hug them both.

Draco stood and Scorpius walked over to him once his mother had released him from a hug.

"Father, did you notice how it's only good to see Lily, and not me?" His son said with an eye roll.

"Now, now, Scorpius! I see you all of the time," his mother replied, "but I never see Lily!"

Scorpius barked out a laugh and looked at her. "You go to the Potter house all the time!"

Draco smiled. That was true, his wife did visit the Potter's often and sometimes Draco would accompany her. He found that Harry was more like him than he knew and that Ginny was very funny. They made good company.

Over the years, Draco had seen the looks exchanged between his son and Lily. They were the looks that he once exchanged with Hermione.

So as his son and wife continued their banter, Draco turned to Lily.

"It's good to see you, my dear."

She smiled and replied, "It's good to see you again, Mr. Malfoy."

"You know I've been waiting for this day. The day he'd bring you home."

Lily blushed, "What do you mean being me home? You didn't think it would be me, surely."

Draco let out a small laugh. "Of course I knew it would be you. Like father, like son. We Malfoy's tend to like the women we aren't supposed to have. Since our families are so close, it was inevitable."

Lily looked shocked, but smiled at Draco. "You see things, Mr. Malfoy. You see the things that others look past."

Draco nodded and realized that Hermione and Scorpius were now silently watching them.

"Let's eat," Hermione suggested.

They all went to the table, and enjoyed a meal full of laughs and love.

After dinner, Lily and Scorpius went to the Potter home and Draco and Hermione started to clear the table.

"We heard you, you know," Hermione said as she put some dishes in the sink.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Draco replied with a shrug.

"Lily's right. You see things, but you must know that you're supposed to have me. And Scorpius is supposed to have Lily. Haven't you heard of fate?"

Draco engulfed his wife in a hug, kissing her lips gently.

"Sometimes it's not just fate, Hermione. Sometimes it's our own will."
