Harley Potter And The Sorcerers Stone
The Girl Who Lived
Introduction
Chapter One
The Beginning Of A Future
The night sky glimmered with millions of sparkling stars. High up in the sky the moon stood out among everything else. As dark clouds began to roll in, the moons light cast a glow over the small town of Godric Hollows. While the dark clouds were forming, darkening the sky, the occupants in the small town where oblivious. The clouds thundered and flashed white from within, caused the earths ground to almost shake. Loud howling from the wind caused the trees to sway and dance with the fierce weather. In a small cottage at the end of the street, remained a decent sized house filled with light and warmth. Shadows danced across the walls from the bright light from inside it, as figures moved through rooms inside the house. Loud voices spoke joyously and happily amongst one another, enjoying each other's company. A loud bell like laugh echoed in the warm room, filled with a roaring fire and close friends. The figure who laughed seemed to find something highly amusing.
"Sirius Black! Look at this mess! Look at what you did to my poor kitchen and daughter!" The soft voice of a red haired female laughed with a roll of her emerald green eyes. The young woman was quite gorgeous. Usually capturing attention from many men when walking into a room or by them. Sirius Black, a rather good looking fellow with messy black hair that reached to his chin and stormy blue eyes and tan golden skin, looked to the hot tempered woman innocently, a meek look graced his features. He too, caught attention, especially from the woman whenever he entered a room or walked by.
"I did no such think. It's prongslet that did it!" Sirius accused, his voice was playful, but smooth and husky when he spoke. He pointed to the small one year old that sat in her highchair, happily slamming her hands against the mush of carrots, causing it to splatter even more amongst the rooms wall and flooring. It also seemed to splatter more on her and her godfather who stood near the young child. The twenty-one year old woman raised a red haired eyebrow and shook her head in amusement. Her comfortable black pants were form fitting, much like her emerald green top with a warm sweatshirt over it.
"Right. So you had no part in causing this small food war? Causing this disaster?" Emerald green eyes twinkled with amusement and laughter. "Which I should remind you, you were feeding her." The fiery red head accused as she pointed a pale slim pointer finger at the taller man who stood at six foot one. Sirius shook his head with a look of shock; the young woman assumed showed that he felt offense to her words.
"Why, I'm hurt Lily. Why would I want to cause a food war?" He paused for a split second. "With a one year old at the least?" He demanded, crossing his arms over his shirt that was covered in the mashed carrots he had been trying to feed his goddaughter.
"Oh...I don't know Sirius. Really, maybe it's because you're a child at heart?" Lily sarcastically asked with a light laugh. Sirius gasped and put a hand where his heart is and spoke in a high-pitched voice.
"Why Lily. That has got to be the sweetest thing you've said to me." Lily outright laughed at his acting and rolled her eyes with another shake of her head, causing tresses of red hair to tumble over her shoulders and into her eyes. She sometimes wondered how she still remained sane when around the three men she called friends. Especially when she was around her husband, who along with Sirius, acted the most childish. She felt like she had two children instead of one at times, maybe even three? She'd have to figure that out later.
"I've said nice things before to you." She defended herself with a small huff of air. With a purse of her lips and a cross of her arms over her chest she squinted in a mock glare at Sirius defensively. Sirius chuckled at her statement and shook his head, as if finding her own remark the funniest thing.
"Only if it includes an insult afterwards." He replied back with a smirk, knowing he was finally winning the battle of wits the two had been having since they were in Hogwarts. He knew she knew it was true. After all, the two had never been the best of friends when they were younger. They had both thought rather differently about each other during their school years, up until she started dating James and got to know Sirius, Remus and Peter, another few friends of hers, better. At the sound of a familiar giggle, Lily looked over to see her husband holding Harley in his lap, having picked her up from the high chair. He had, while the two childish adults battled with each other over who was wittier, cleaned 'Pronglest' as Sirius so affectionately called her, with a wave of his wand. James had begun to show his daughter magic tricks with a wave of his wand, while whispering little ideas in her head with a mischievous sparkle in his hazel blue eyes.
"You're be a great prankster when you're older my little prankster." James whispered in his daughter's ear with a proud loving smile on his lips. Harley gave a giggle at her father, as her wide, large, emerald green eyes, so much like his Lily's, gazed up at him with a small happy smile. "You'll prank those nasty little snakes in Hogwarts." James continued with a glisten of his eyes as he looked at Harleigh. With the threat of Voldemort, he never knew what would happen.
Lily Potter looked back to Sirius and spoke with a smirk across her lips. "We'll finish this battle later Black."
"Bring it Potter." Sirius sneered mockingly. Lily chuckled and shook her head before turning back to her husband with her hands on her hips she gave a sigh.
"James Potter! What are you up to?" She questioned her husband. Walking away from her argument with Sirius, which she wasn't going to let win, she raised an eyebrow at her husband while looking down a between father and daughter. Her bright green eyes glimmered in the light from the fireplace as she looked down at the man she loved. James glanced up at his wife, an innocent look crossing his face as he flashed his most charming smile at her. His circular glasses caught the light from the fireplace, making them glisten in the light. His own hazel blue eyes sparkled with love as he looked to his wife.
"Why, I'm doing nothing at all my Lilyflower. Just chatting with my lovely daughter here showing her some magic." He replied with a sparkle in his hazel blue eyes. "Isn't that right Harley love?" He questioned his daughter with a smile. With another wave of his wand he made small sparks shoot out from the tip of his wand, the colors a bright red and gold. Harley squealed and bounced in his lap with excitement as she clapped her hands, staring in awe at the colorful sparkles. Lily smiled down at her daughter, who looked so much like her husband, but had her eyes. "See?" James questioned with a chuckle, his face lightening up at his daughter giggled once again as he made two small figurines appear in front of her on the table and begin to dance across the table in a waltz. Lily nodded her head and took a seat on the love seat besides James and tilted her head. Leaning forward she glanced at her daughter who continued to look on in amazement at the dancing figures.
"Prongslet is going to be very talented in magic isn't she? I can already tell, don't know about you lot." Sirius stated, sitting across from the two on the couch, which was near the window as he watched his goddaughter.
"I'm sure she'll be powerful, and very intuited to learning magic quite quickly. Like her parents." Remus Lupin, a blond haired, light honey brown almost gold eyed man with pale skin stated from beside Sirius on the couch. A small smile graced his lips as he tiredly watched his best friends daughter. James glanced up at his friends with a smug grin.
"Of course she will be. She'll be amazing and beautiful. Look who her parents are." James arrogantly stated with a proud look on his face. Lily chuckled from beside her husband and shook her head playfully, causing her tresses of red hair to fall into her face. She lightly slapped his arm.
"James, always the arrogant one. I wonder how I put up with you at times." Lily teased him. Her light pink lips turned upwards into a teasing smile. James, who had once again become distracted with their daughter, looked to his wife with a smirk appearing across his lips.
"It's because you love me. I mean anyone would." He stated, winking at his wife as he leaned forward, quickly capturing her into a loving kiss.
"I do have to admit, I love you." Lily mocked as they pulled away slightly at the sound of a small fake cough. Looking to Sirius, he nodded to Harley who was on James lap still. The couple glanced down at their daughter and noticed she was looking at them curiously, her head tilted to the side with her small plump lips parted slightly.
"I believe, she is curious to know what you to were doing." Sirius barked out a laugh, sounding much like his animagus form. Lily gave a small giggle at the look on James face.
"She won't bloody know what we were doing until she's in her thirties." He said, pulling Harley to his chest and kissing her on the top of her head. His protective fatherly side began to shine through.
"We can't always be here for her James. She'll learn about boys when she's older." Lily consoled her husband, with a small smile. James frowned, his eyebrows scrunching together at his wife's words.
"Not if I can help it. You're with me on this right Moony...Padfoot?" James questioned. Looking to his two best friends across from him with a raise of his eyebrow. Sirius and Remus nodded their heads.
"Of course. We'll be there to swat away any boy that comes near her." Sirius and Remus promised at the same time. James nodded, his fears of his daughter dating now pushed away after his best mates words.
"So, has anyone seen Peter?" Lily questioned allowed, breaking the silence. Having had her thoughts wander to their other missing friend, she often wondered if they should trust him as much as they did. After all, it was impossible to tell who to trust and who not to nowadays. The room had gone silent at her question, besides the sound of Harley giggling and squealing at the spins and twirls that the dancers on the table did. The men in the room shook their heads, having not seen him since the last Order meeting. Lily made a small 'hmm' sounds to herself and nodded. For now, she pushed away any doubts of Peter to the back of her mind.
"So how are Cilia and Kat doing?" Lily asked. Her voice held a hint of sadness. She hadn't seen her two best friends in the last few months, having not been allowed to see them due to certain circumstances. She had to learn every detail from the two men across from her, which wasn't much. She had to usually dig for more information from them.
"She's...Cilia...nothing new about that. Though...she has been acting a bit...off. Always disappearing and what not." Sirius sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know she's not cheating on me or anything. I'm just hesitant to know if she's...well...doing other...things." He hesitated to say the word; he hated to think she might be into doing dark magic. That she might be working with him. That could possibly he the worst thing to think of a loved one of yours doing. Remus glanced to Sirius and nodded his head in understanding. He felt the same way, but didn't want to admit that he himself was beginning to question the girl he cared for.
"Kat...she's been the same way, some what. She never tells me where she's going though. She's become...secretive." Remus rubbed his face and looked to his friends. Each held different emotions displayed across their face. Lily was by far, the most affective at this news.
"I'm sure...they're just doing something. Maybe...maybe they're doing...helpful things. Like...working at Saint Mungos?" Lily supplied pitifully. She didn't want to think of her friends doing something horrible, like going Dark Side. That would be by far, the most crushing thing any of them would have to deal with, besides having any more people they cared about killed.
"Did Prongslet get a new necklace?" Sirius questioned the two parents. His eye had caught a glimmer of silver. Thankful for the change of conversation, Lily nodded her head.
"She did. It's just a silver locket with some lilies, roses and petunia flowers on the front. Albus gave it to her not too long ago. Said something about pictures inside of it. It's the second one he's given her." Lily beamed. She loved talking about her daughter every chance she got, no matter what it was about. "He said he wouldn't let her see what's inside of it until she's older. James and I don't even know what's inside of it." She nodded her head and looked over to Harley to see her beginning to get tired. Smiling, Lily reached over and picked Harley up and into her arms. Holding her against her chest, Lily stood and began to walk around the room. She hummed lightly in her daughter's ear, singing a soft lullaby her mother use to sing to her as a child.
"Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Mama's gonna buy you a mockin'bird.
If that mockin'bird don't sing.
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring.
If that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass.
If that looking glass gets broke.
Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat.
If that billy goat don't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and mull.
If that cart and mule turn over.
Mama's gonna buy you a dog named Rover.
If that dog named Rover won't bark.
Mama's gonna buy you a horse and cart.
If that Horse and Cart fall down,
Then you'll be the sweetest little baby in town."
The boys watched Lily as she sang to her daughter. Her voice was soft and soothing, and very beautiful. The young mother seemed to glow with love for her daughter as she paced around the large living room. James smiled proudly at how well his wife adapted to being a mother. She was a natural at it. Glancing to his friends he spoke. "I don't know about you mates, but I'm down right exhausted." He stood up from the couch, yawning and scratched the back of his head tiredly. Taking care of a one year old all day was a tiring job. Sirius and Remus nodded, they too felt tired after spending the whole day with little Harley, who was a little ball of energy.
"I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" Sirius questioned his best mate. A smile appeared across his lips as he looked at his best friend who was like his brother.
"Of course Padfoot. Why wouldn't I?" James asked with a raise of his eyebrows. Sirius shrugged his shoulders and gave his friend a hug before pulling away. Walking over to the girls, he kissed Lily on the cheek before bending on and kissing Harley on the cheek as well. Rubbing her back and gave the sleepy child a smile.
"See ya soon Prongslet." Sirius stated with a smile. Harley muttered gibberish to her godfather, causing his smile to grow, one word he had clearly heard was, 'Padfoot'. Like Remus had said, she was very smart for her age. "See ya Lily." He stated, turning on his heel he made his way towards the door. He waited beside it for his other best friend to finish saying goodbye. Remus walked over to Lily and Harley, giving Lily a kiss on the cheek and Harley a kiss on the head.
"Night Harley." He whispered to the girl. He too, also knew he heard, 'Moony' uttered from her lips. Chuckling he walked over to his friend and together they walked out of Potter Cottage and away from the small home.
With a tired yawn, James closed and locked the door behind them, watching them disappear into the fog that had appeared over Godric Hollows. Walking over to where Lily sat on the couch, Harley asleep in her arms, her arm wrapped around her mother's neck made James smile. Silently James sat down beside Lily, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, pulling her towards him. With a glance at the clock, Lily noticed it was only around eight. That was the last thing she saw before falling asleep against James.
Lily awoke with a jolt. Her bright green eyes gazed around the living room. Her mind clouded over with sleep and frantic blurry thoughts. She shook her head, her eyes slowly becoming less wild and calmer as she stopped frantically searching the room. She glanced down at her chest to see her daughter, her precious Harley, still asleep in her arms. Sighing with silent relief she sat up and looked to James. Shaking his shoulder she whispered in a soft voice as to not wake their daughter. "James...James." She waited for him to respond, but nothing happened. Rolling her eyes she glanced to the clock hanging above the doorway to the living room to see it was a quarter to twelve. "James!" Lily snapped, jabbing her husband in the shoulder. With a snap, James awoke and looked around blearily.
"Wha...what happened?" James questioned. His glasses lay crooked on his nose, hanging on by his ear. Adjusting his glasses he ran a hand through his hair and yawned tiredly.
"We should head to bed." She stated simply, standing from the love seat she adjusted her hold of the lightweight in her arms. Kissing her daughter on her head, she brushed Harley's unruly hair, trying to straighten it. "She has your hair you know. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets your attitude as well when she's older." Lily spoke, her voice in a mere whisper. She didn't want to wake up young Harleigh Potter, not if she could help it. The living room was colder now, having had the fireplace go out, the only lights see came from the hall.
"I bet, she'll be like both of us." James stated with a smile as he followed his wife as they walked out into the long hallway that led to the staircase, the kitchen, and the front door. The couple began to walk towards the long staircase, both wishing for the soft bed that called out to them.
The sudden sound of a loud slam, caused from the front door opening with a rush of air and hitting the door, made the couple jump and quickly look to the figure standing in the doorway. Standing at the door, in all his dark and evil glory, with an air of death around him, was Lord Voldemort himself. "Lily run! It's him! He found us!" James yelled to his wife. "I'll fight him off for as long as I can! Go!" James yelled to his wife, kissing her one last time he pushed her away and pulled out his wand.
"James..." Lily started to say, but was caught off with James yelling at her to run. "I love you." She whispered to him with tears in her green eyes.
"I love you too." James stated as well, before pushing her up the stairs. Lily quickly scampered up the stairs, holding Harley tightly in her arms as the tears in her eyes flowed fluidly down her cheeks. Stopping at the top of the stairs she watched as a bright green light flooded the room for a moment.
"Oh Merlin...James." She sobbed as she ran swiftly down the dark hallway. She instinctively knew where she was going, having wandered down these halls so many times before. Reaching Harley's nursery she quickly slammed the door shut and rushed over to the window. Trying to open it, she found it futile. She closed her eyes and tried to apparate, and found that hopeless as well. "Oh Merlin...oh god." She cried to herself. Quickly she walked over to the crib and held her daughter to her chest. Harley, who had awoken to the sounds of the fight, looked to her mother with wide eyes. She could almost feel her mothers fear, sadness and pain, like it was her own. "Oh James." Lily sniffled as her tears quickly fell down her face. Looking down the young mother frowned, tears continued to slid down her cheeks and drip down on chin as she noticed her daughter awake. A watery smile crossed her shaking and quivering lips and jaw. "I love you so much Harley. You're father as well. We will always love and watch over for you." She whispered to her daughter. Leaning down she kissed the left side of her forehead. Lily jumped as the door to the nursery slammed open, rattling the pictures hanging on the wall.
"Stand aside girl, and I'll spare you your life." The cold voice of Voldemort hissed from his cloaked hood.
"Please...Please not Harley. Take me instead...please anyone but Harley, not her." Lily begged to the cold mass murder.
"Stand aside girl! I'll ask you one last time." The dark wizard hissed with impatience.
"Please...take me instead. Not Harley...Not my baby. Please, not her. Take me instead. Anyone but Harley." She begged with a sob. Holding her daughter closer to her she looked down at her child with one last sad smile, giving her a kiss she listened as the man spoke those two dreaded words.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A bright green light filled the nursery before dimming. Lily Potter's lifeless body collapsed to the floor. Harley Potter, the last living Potter, landed beside her mother's dead body, and at the cribs leg. She stared up, with her enchanting, electric, emerald green eyes, at the most feared wizard of the century. Her lips were parted as she blinked up at the cold-hearted killer. Voldemort raised his wand, pointing it at the one-year-old girls forehead, where her mother had kissed her one last time. The cold man seemed to hesitate for a moment, before hissing out the killing curse for a third time, having already killed her fierce and protective parents. Her parents had been very young when they died. Having only died to the age of twenty-one, so they could protect their only child.
"Avada Kedavra!"
What happened next, was unexpected. The bright green light of the killing curse rebounded off of Harley, and shot right back at Voldemort. With a cry of pain and rage, Voldemort disappeared. The only thing left was a ruffled cloak on the nursery floor. Harley sniffled as pain began to fill her forehead. Slowly, ruby red droplets of blood began to drip down her forehead and into her eyes from an odd shaped lightening bolt scar on her forehead. With another sniffle, she began to cry aloud, waiting for her mother, or father, or someone to pick her up and make her feel loved and protected again, but it never happened, not until an hour or two later.
I had the need to re-edit this chapter, again.
I had to make it better and add a little thing inside of it.
It's so sad, Harley is now prphaned because of some mass murderer psycho.
Next, it will be chapter 2 and probably chapter 3 and 4, if I actually get enough energy to.
A little R&R will be nice. Now that I changed the story and made it much, much better than it was before. Hopefully, you all like the next few chapters afterwords. No worries, I'm sticking to making this story an original. As original as it can be.
I one none of the characters, besides Harley Potter and any OC you may come across in the story.
