Final Fantasy X:
A Scholar's Journey
Prologue
Tidus and Yuna finally got married and were walking the trail they once traveled on her long pilgrimage. This trek alone was their honeymoon after their wedding among the pyreflies on the Moonflow. After the ceremony they rode on their airship, the Celcius, back to Besaid to start their long journey together. Lulu and Wakka were both happy to see them off on the SS Liki, the same boat that they left Spira on three years ago minus one day. The one day was for the day they first met in The Temple of Yevon. Rikku had a few complaints being not invited along, but I think she understood why they needed to be alone.
The path they walked was very romantic and quiet for miles as they traveled north pointing out all the sites they remembered. They stopped at Guadosalam and to visit Tromell's house. Leblanc was happy to return it since she moved in with Nooje. After meeting with Tromell and the guado youth they decide to venture into farplane.
But now, looking at their respective fathers something was terribly amiss. They show more than a slight smile when they showed their wedding bands. The look the two fathers' smile quickly fades back to that of fear and dread. All they could tell from the expression was that Spira is again in some sort of peril. Neither of the two young lovers could figure out why but there's definitely a look of despair on both Jecht and Braska. They both had
It's a damn shame that souls in the farplane couldn't talk or carry on a conversation with the living. This is the case with the noted exception of Shuin who was the only unsent to be able to travel freely in and out of the farplane due to his intense will and hatred from the events at the end of his life. So the problem persisted that there was absolutely no means of ascertaining the meaning of their fathers' sullen expressions. Auron didn't look much better in this regard either, but his face always was hard to read.
They walk out slowly looking down at the stone stairway pondering the expressions of their parents still not saying a word.
"Perhaps I can offer a solution," an aged but wise voice echoes over their shoulder emanating from within the farplane.
"Meichen!?" both Yuna and Tidus turn inward back towards the swirling clouds trying to find him. The scholar isn't standing there and it was almost as if his voice was a part of the mist. They step back inside to see the scholar standing there with pyreflies passing through his body.
"Would you like to hear a story?" he asks.
