January 15th,
It's been a while sense I've written and so much has happened. I'm not even sure where to begin; so I'll just say that my parents are dead. It all started on the night that Uncle Ryotaro was killed in a car wreck while he was chasing Namatame. I called my mother on the phone and told her what was going on and she said that both she and Dad would be on the first flight back. That was the last time I ever heard my mother's voice and she was crying, sad that I was the one to tell her that her only brother died in my arms. Their plane had a malfunctioning engine and crashed in the ocean. No one survived.
According to my lawyer, I have the right to file for emancipation and can then file for custody over Nanako-chan but I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep us together. Everyone's been a big help through it all, making sure that I'm eating and that Nanako-chan's hospital bill won't cost us anything. We're currently staying at our house along with Rise-chan and her grandmother (Karui-sama), who is doing her best to care for us all.
Bless Yukiko-chan's mother, she told me that she's filing for custody of Nanako in the event that I'm not allowed to keep her with me. I guess if nothing else Nanako-chan would be able to see her Big Bro as often as she wants, God knows I'm not going to leave Inaba now.
Sayoko, the nurse at the hospital that I clean at night, has come by a lot lately to check back up on Nanako-chan for me. I don't know what it is about her but every time she's over, I can feel her eyes on me. It's not like when I first met her where she was shamelessly hitting on me, but more like she's checking to see if I'm holding up ok.
Am I ok? I don't know, but I think I will be.
Teddy is trying to cheer us both up, but I think it will be a while until Nanako-chan and I can be truly happy again. Or maybe he's just what the doctor order for her, as she's starting to smile more and just seeing that is making me not think of what we both lost.
Naoto-chan is dealing with this in a way I would never have guessed. She's having Kenji-kun teach her how to sew. I guess that sometime during the murder investigation, my uncle watched out for her and became her uncle too. She's hurting just as much as I am.
Yosuke is busy at Junes, but that's because his father is being a bit of a jerk towards him, making him work nonstop after school. He'll be coming by later to help me figure out how I'm going to keep the house.
Yukiko-chan is currently keeping Nanako-chan entertained. If I remember correctly they're at the inn, soaking in the hot springs right now.
Chie-chan is training even harder now, talking about becoming a police officer so that she can try to stop things like this from ever happening again.
On a bit of a lighter note; the night that all of this happened I was going to make another entry saying that Rise-chan and I became a couple. She's currently taking a nap in my room, which she likes to do for some reason; while I'm here in the living room sitting next to Karui-sama as she's reading her book.

Yu looks up from his journal as he sees Rise coming down stairs from her nap. Closing the book in his hands he wraps is arms around her when she sits next to him.
Smiling gently he can only think, 'Yeah, I think we'll be alright.'
