She punched another rock and watched as it crumbled from her strength. She had been at this for over five hours and was now starting to feel the exhaustion that came with chakra depletion.
Betrayal. Sadness. Loneliness. Those were what existed in her heart. They existed because of him. It was all because of him. Everything was because of him. It was always because if him.
She growled as she punched a large tree close to her. There was the sound of cracking timbers before it crashed to the ground. The sound was satisfying to her ears. She wished it were him that she was punching. She wanted to use all her strength and break his jaw, maybe his neck in one blow.
But she knew she would never get that opportunity. He left the village three years ago. He deserted his home in search of power. He left her alone. He betrayed their team, their family. She would never forgive him.
The young woman paused as she glared at the remaining piles of rock. There was nothing besides trees to punch now. She tossed a loose blonde ponytail over her shoulder before dusting her hands off. It was time for dinner then.
There was no doubt in her mind that she would be at this again early tomorrow.

Tears welled in the young girls mind. The pain was still there. She had tried everything to forget him. The only thing that seemed to work was throwing herself into her training and hospital work.
Right now she was training by crumbling rocks with her fists. She had been at this a few hours and could already feel her strength improving ever so slightly. She stopped and stood there as sobs wracked through her body.
He left her to seek power. He left his team who had accepted him as family. He called her weak and useless.
Now she was anything but. She was a strong shinobi of the leaf and a promising medic-nin. She could hold her own in a fight with her sensei. She was anything but weak or useless.
She wiped away the tears and tried to calm down. She couldn't afford to break down. Not because of him. She saw now that he didn't deserve her love. But the pain was still there, the hurt and the anguish. She wanted it to go away.
She swayed a little on her feet before catching herself. Maybe it was time for her to quit for the day. Just maybe.
She felt the presence of a new chakra signature entering her training area. She didn't even have to look up to see who it was.
Moments later a hand rests on her shoulder as the new arrival stands behind her.
"It will get better Sakura."
"How can you be so sure sensei?"
Tsunade remained quiet as she stood behind her young apprentice. "Because I've been where you are. It's a road I had hoped no one else would have the pain to travel." She closed her eyes briefly as she fought back her own tears. "The loneliness, the pain, the what ifs. They will never leave you alone."
Sakura's head bowed as a gloved hand rested on her sensei's hand. "Why? Why do they do this to us?"
"Because they are obsessed with themselves and with what they want. They don't stop to think about the fact that they are hurting the people that love them."
There was a comfortable silence between them for a while before Sakura broke it. "How did you get over it?"
Tsunade sighed softly. "I never did. Part of me still loves the hebi-teme. But I know that even if he loved me back, there's no redeeming him after all he has done to this village."
"I'm afraid it may be the same way with Sasuke-kun."
Tsunade merely nodded. "Those who do not remember the past are doomed to relieve it."
Oh how true those words were.
