Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me. The idea is from an episode of One Tree Hill.
It started out as any other date.

The dinner.

The movie.

But tonight was different. Tonight she was going to end her heartache.

She made the decision when they were at the movies. There was one scene that really got to her. This old man was being awarded for something that he did, and during his thank-you speech, he said something that really got to her.

"I am so happy to be awarded for doing something that I love. However I am sad that my other love isn't here to see this. My late wife, Petunia. Petunia was my one true love. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew that I wanted to marry her. She made me so happy! We shared this special bond that no one else understood. She stood by me through everything, and I just wish that she was here to see this and I-" At this point the man had burst into tears and had to be taken off stage.

In the middle of his speech, Starfire had started thinking about her true love, and her date's true love. And that led her to her decision.

She was going to end this.

As Robin walked her to her door at the end of the date, her mind was made up. When she turned around to tell him, for a second she wanted to change her mind. 'Who cares if he's seeing both of us! I love him! That's all that should matter...right?'

But she knew what she had to do.

When she saw him lean in for the usual goodnight kiss, she turned her face so that he kissed her cheek.

"Star, wha-?"

"I am sorry Robin. But there is something that I need to talk to you about. Tonight, at the movies, the old man gave a speech. Do you remember what he said?"

"Uh, something about how he loved his award?"

Starfire shook her head, "No, he was talking about his one true love. And Robin, the more I think about it, the more I realize, that I am not your one true love."

"Starfire, what in the world are you talk-"

"No, please Robin, let me finish. I love you. I love you with all my heart, Robin. I truly do!"

"Star-"

"I love you so much that it hurts, Robin! It hurts to see you with her! And its because I love you, that I'm ending this!"

Robin looked shocked, "Now wait a minute Star, you cant just END this!"

Starfire looked away, "Robin, when you are in love with someone, you want the best for them. And I now realize, that I am not the best for you. Raven is your ideal match. You share a bond with her. You are good for each other. You make each other happy. She understands you better than I do. She is best for you."

Robin reached out to her, "But what about us? Don't we share a bond also? Aren't we good together? Don't I make you happy??"

Starfire begged her tears to stay, "Please Robin, do not make this harder that it already is. I have made up my mind."

She looked at him, "Go to her Robin. Go and be happy. Please."

"What about you?"

She smiled, "When the person you love is happy, nothing else matters. And as for me, I will never stop loving you. I will soon learn how to let go, and maybe I'll move on and try to be happy. Now go Robin, do not let your love for her be in vain."

She leaning forward and gave him a kiss on the lips. only moving back a little, she whispered against his lips, "Goodbye Robin. I hope you are happy." She closed her eyes as she walked into her room.

She turned around and looked at him one last time before her door closed.

Robin sighed as he turned around and went into his room to think.

He could still hear her sobbing in her room.

Starfire looked up to her ceiling.

She'll be happy...

Eventually.

Gah! Poor Starfire! She's always the nice one.

It was so hard to write Rob/Rae! I mean I didn't write them, but I kinda did?

Does that make sense?

Anyway how was it? Good, bad? Tell me in a review. :-)

You all know the drill. :-)
