Heya! This is for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Class: Magic Objects and Their Uses
Assignment #10. Write about someone you wouldn't expect dabbling with Dark Magic
Word Count: 601
She knew it was wrong, but only in the eyes of others.
Dark Magic wasn't really bad unless it was on the wrong hands, and it certainly wasn't. At least, Luna thought so.
Magic didn't want to be controlled; it wanted to be set free. Magic wanted to flow, and Luna would help it to do just that. It just needed that last one push.
She felt the magic through her veins. The rush was always there, and she didn't need it to go, she only needed to let it out.
Her friends would certainly think she was even crazier than they already thought. That, of course, was if she did actually had friends.
It was sad to not have friends. Luna had acquaintances, maybe colleagues, but she didn't really have any friends. She had nobody to talk to, and nobody to laugh with. It was very depressing.
Maybe that was why she turned to the Dark Arts.
It was not that re wanted to kill, to live forever, or cause pain. Luna really only wanted knowledge, which shouldn't been banned in anyway. And surely, those members of the Wizengamot who had been Ravenclaws could relate.
Knowledge was power, as some would say. Luna thought that they were probably afraid to be replaced. That they were afraid that someone else would be in their place. They wanted to keep the magic only for them.
That obviously made Luna mad.
"Hello Daddy," Luna said as her dad entered the dining room, which was where she was. He understood. He knew magic should be for everyone, not just only those with the power.
"Hello sweetheart. How have you been this summer? I haven't really seen you," Daddy said smiling.
"Oh, I've been better. Nargles have finally quit taking my shoes! Now they are a hundred percent save,"
Daddy clapped his hands. "That's awesome, sweetheart."
"Yes it is, daddy." Luna smiled. She wished her daddy would be with her at the castle. However, she knew that only she could go, so she didn't really say anything about it.
Luna wasn't really alone though. Her new friend, Harry Potter, was very sensible. Of course, Harry thought Luna was a little weird, but she thought it was only because he thought like others. Harry needed to be his own, and that was why he was not a Raveclaw.
Harry thought she was weird, but he went on with the flow, and Luna clearly knew he was very naïve. Harry would later overcome that, Luna predicted. Maybe it was just to please herself and think he was actually her friend.
Harry was her friend, but she didn't really know the meaning of friendship.
Luna suddenly realized something. She wasn't the only one to use Dark Magic! Didn't Hermione specialize in that oppugno spell? That was Dark Magic! Luna smiled, she would ask about that when she saw Hermione.
Well, Hermione used a combination of spells, but it was still certainly Dark Magic. Ginny used it too! She remembered about that mean bat-bogey hex that Ginny had thrown at Malfoy. That had been hilarious, and it still was.
Maybe, just maybe, Luna wasn't the only one who would use Dark magic. She knew those people, and they had the best intentions. However, she was scared because the beautiful magic would fall in the wrong hands.
And in wrong hands indeed it fell.
The war begun, and Luna was certain she wasn't the only one trying to defend herself.
Maybe they would later understand the brilliance and the rush of the magic, not only dark, but all of it.
