Hey! So this is a little different than my usual writing but then again this is not really a story. This is merely thoughts written poetically. Hope you guys like it! Read and please let me know what you thought by reviewing! :D

They have said that Valentine's Day was reserved for the one you love

They have said that Valentine's Day was to be spent with your significant other

Aria Montgomery however, thought otherwise

There she was sitting in the embrace of her best friend, Spencer Hastings

She felt the happiest in that moment than she had felt in months, possibly even in years

She felt safe

She felt at peace

She remembered the many times she had sat in the same exact embrace except it was with her former boyfriend

However, she recalled that she had never felt this safe

Even with him

She supposed that could have been due to the fact that as it turned out, he was not the man she thought he was

He was a liar

He was a criminal

He was the devil

It had turned out that she was merely a toy

A toy for him to play with

To use

To take advantage of

To take pleasure in

And much like a toy, she had broke when she found that out

When she broke though, he was not there to pick up the pieces

He left her there

He laughed at her

He enjoyed seeing her pain

Then she felt someone pick her up

She felt someone try to put her back together

She felt someone glue her back together

It was not him

It was her best friends

It was Spencer who had quickly caught her before she shattered herself into tiny shreds

It was Emily who had put the pieces of her puzzled self back together

It was Hanna who had glued her back together to prevent her from breaking again

Her best friends were there

He was not

He would never be again

Her best friends had brought her back to reality

Her best friends had nursed her back to health

Her best friends had loved her back to life

Best friends, she realized, were saviours

Best friends, she realized, were angels sent from heaven

Best friends, she realized, were her life line

Best friends accepted you for who you were

Best friends saw beyond your flaws

Best friends saw you at your best

Best friends comforted you at your worst

Best friends tolerated you

Best friends bettered you

Aria Montgomery had finally reached her epiphany

She had realized that best friends meant much more than just one boy

Now, as Aria Montgomery sat on Spencer Hastings' lap, in her embrace, in between Hanna and Emily, she decided that that was exactly how she would like to spend Valentine's Day

In the embrace of her best friends

Not in the embrace of a lying man

Because her best friends cared

Because her best friends loved her

And now she understood that she loved her best friends more than any other man that she had ever loved
