Death. It came to everything eventually, all things must have an end. It was the rule of existence, and everything followed it, including her. True, hers wasn't meant to happen so soon, and something had definitely interfered with the present, and no doubt created a future never meant to be. And her Doctor would face it all alone.
He was there in his tenth regeneration, just siting blankly at the controls. The red haired woman's departure and memories being wiped had hit her Time Lord hard, and he let it show with sagged shoulders and a world weary exspression.
As far as he knew, everything was fine with her. She carried him to his destination, and she made the same noises as always. He really did need to take the breaks off. She might have said something were she a more active TARDIS, but no, she was his TARDIS, silent and ever caring for her precious Doctor. And now she was dying with no one to take her place.
She was trying to think of a possible replacement, but her mind ends up at the same conclusion everytime. A new TARDIS spirit could not simply be pulled from out of the blue, and there wasn't any existing ones able to replace her that she knew of with Galifrey unreachable. That left only one option, conversion.
She'd seen it happen with Rose Tyler, and even though it had almost destroyed her, it proved it was possible to pour the essence of space and time she contained into another being. The problem was finding a person capable of withstanding the change, most would simply die from the process itself. Miss Tyler didnt realize how lucky she'd been.
It made her nervous, realizing who the best candidate was. Her doctor would disapprove, part of her dsiapproved, and HE would probably not be as willing as he would've been in the past. He had a lot of reasons to be angry with her doctor. But she has to try, she had no other choice.
So that was that, she made her decision as Jack Harkness appeared in the TARDIS.
"Jack?!" Her doctor clocked shocked and a little startled. Harkness looked around hastily, taking in his surroundings. The immortal's eyes finally settled on her doctor and he slowly made his way over to him. He stopped right in front of The Doctor, a moment of confusion before something unreadable crossed his features.
"Jack..." The Doctor repeated. "Wh-"
the punch to his face cut him off, Jack glaring at the time lord as he fell to the ground hiding his bleeding nose.
"Fuck. You," Jack snapped at the stunned time lord.
This would take more convincing then she thought it seemed...
AN: so I know this is ridiculously short, but its just a prologue. I Promise actual chapters will be longer.
