This idea has been in my head for weeks now and I needed to get it down before I forgot about it. I might continue it, I might not, as my previous fic is evidence of that. Its up to you lot to decide if you want me to continue. If you do, don't expect fixed updates, as they will be random.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, only this plot and the OC, and I am not making any money from this story

Prologue

'Do I really want to do this?'

As she stared at the potion in front of her, this question kept on repeating itself in her head.

'Do I really want to do this? Do I really- SHUT UP! Of course I do. I have to… I need to'

She took a deep breath, knowing that if she did this, it could have dire consequences for everyone. But if she didn't …well lets just say that she wouldn't like to be in the shoes of Harry Potter. She read the instructions for the potion again.

'Once the potion has completely cooled, take the required amount of drops for the number of years you are declining. REMEMBER THAT ONE DROP EQUATES TO ONE YEAR.'

Taking a ladle, she scooped up some of the potion and carefully counted the 20 drops that she would need while dripping it into a beaker. When finished, she carefully placed the ladle back into the cauldron and picked up the beaker.

'You can't back out after this' She thought to herself.

"I know and I don't want to"

Closing her eyes, she downed the potion in one go. As soon as the potion hit her throat, she immediately felt the change begin.

When it had finished, she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was that her hands were smaller and she swore she had been taller just a minute ago. She quickly found a full length mirror and her mouth dropped open in surprise.

"Well, I'll be… it actually worked"

There, standing in mirror, staring back at her, was her 11 year old self.

"Eleven years and nine months" she reminded herself

'The first step is now complete. The second step will be…'

Her thoughts stopped short when she heard a tapping on the window of her room. She walked over to the window and opened it to let the owl in. Taking the letter that was tied to its leg; she unrolled it and started to read. As she got to the one part that she had hoped for, she smirked.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry…

The second step is now complete.

She, Rosanna Alison Black, was on her way back to Hogwarts.
